I got behind the washer with a flat head screw driver and put a LOT of pressure on it and loosened the nut. I still ended up breaking 2 of the tabs that held it on the hood.

im actually afraid sometime ill be backed over a curb, load the truck up a little, and not be able to pull out of the space. If my truck squats a little under the load, it would fully bottom the spare out
