Looks like we have a third eco overheat in the 09-12 threads. Sure hope thats not a beginning sign of bad news for that motor.

It is pretty neat to watch that screen as you go down the road and see what hills and stop lights do to you. From Ennis to Corsicana on 45, I had it set on 70 and it averaged 21.7 for that stretch. I have about 2100 miles on it now.
I'll have to find the video clip later......but there's a sport trac with a super charger and as he's filming part of the camera is picking up on the message center.......the readout starts at around 16 mpgs.....he floors it and it goes down to like 5/6......

One strange thing I have noticed, punching it to get on the freeway or to pass does not seem to guzzle as much as sitting at a light, taking off easy getting up to 35 and stopping again. I think it's becuase you seldom get out of the lower gears plus idleing just kills you. I never realized how much. I can hit Athens averaging 21.4 for a hundred miles including going thru 6 small towns, and go thru 5 or 6 lights and the mileage will drop to 19.5 over the whole 110 miles. That is some serious drop.

Didn't we just talk about this not to long ago? I would really like one of these guys to put pyros on one of the trucks because I am really curious on what they are running for EGT's when these things over heat.

The turbo are water cooled......not enough air or cool enough air going through them produces more heat for the cooling system to deal with...

Cattle theft is still a risky business in Texas.

I asked a couple times in that other thread with no response or if Ford didn't put it on the truck then I don't need it. I know you would and I would but we use common sense.
