Ever been pulled over?

I'm only 16 and haven't been driving that long but I'm sure I'll get pulled over a few times in my life.

Can you remember how many times you've been pulled over and what for?

I wasnt driving but I was in VT at 10pm with my cousin and the first time we got pulled over in his '71 Skylark because of an out taillight (it has been sitting for 6 months and I begged him to just take me down the road in it) and then the officer noticed the inspection stiker was out. Luckily he let us off with a warning becasue my cousin has been pulled over by this same cop 10 times before and new his first name

Other time was 5 days later with the same cousin in his '03 Dakota 4-dr 4.7L V8 (his DD) on our way to NH to visit my other aunt and we were doing the speed limit but a cop who already pulled someone else over saw us coming and just pointed behind his first victim. The cop accused us of speeding but we were doing the speed limit and he didnt catch us with his gun so he let us go.

Lastly, I was going home down a local road and saw the familiar lights of a Crown Vic coming towards me (9pm) and he passed me and I look in my rearview and I see his brake lights light up, then his headlight beem sweep to the left and started going in my direction and I was only doing 5-6 mph over so I pulled over thinking he was going to light up his lightbar any second but instead he flew past me at like 80! wtf?

I'm done. Let's hear your stories!

ok... here goes...holloween night 1981.. just married for 3 weeks or so. I had a 1972 ranchero GT with a 351CJ 4 speed that I just had restored. Beautiful car. Went to the store to get milk and bread. On the way home, passed a slow car, rowing thru the gears. A bit later, headlights were coming up behind me like a half mile back. Wondered if it was a cop so I downshifted and floored it. Sure enough the cherries came on. He was getting dimmer and dimmer. About 5 miles ahead, right where I was going to turn off and get home, there were 6 cop cars blocking the road. There was an accident there and they were ready for me. So I pulled over and the persuing cop finally got there... he was PISSED. He said I was GD lucky he didn't have his olds, or he would have kicked my butt... I SO wanted to say "well go get it and lets go again!" He told me if I blew thru the accident sceen and hurt anyone it would have been a felony. I was a block from home, they insisted they tow my newly painted car, and hauled me to jail. Got pictures and prints. They let me call the new wife... to bring $100 bail money.. our rent money. Wow was my new bride MAD! I had to go to court because it was my 3rd ticket in a year. I was in the Air Force reserve, and had orders to go active duty. So the judge asked why I was speeding.. I just said I dunno... he asked again. Me: I dunno. He said "you knew the officer was behind you, didn't you?" I said yes. I said that I had orders for the military and my wife couldn't drive a stick and it would be a hardship to move in time. He said ok, but if I got another ticket in the next year, I would loose my license for I think 6 months. He slapped the gavel and said $100 fine. Fortunately that $100 was paid for bail. Another $40 for the tow charge and I was free. BTW.. the cop wrote the ticket as over 100 (cuz he couldn't clock me I was whipping him so bad) in a 50 mph zone. He didn't put wreckless or negligent on the ticket. Now days, that is a felony. I am very fortunate. Life would have been a lot different if I had a felony conviction on my record.

Growing up as a kid, we did not have local police, but rather State police. If you drove by a Staty and even looked at them, they pulled you over. I wanna say that I have been pulled over at least 20+ times and I am a good driver. I have only had 1 speeding tix out of all the pulls and a couple of seatbelt tix, so I have done pretty good for driving for 20 years.

I don't see myself getting a ticket for seatbelt violation. My truck dosen't "feel" right without a seatbelt on. My little butt slides on the leather when I turn without a seatbelt so I not only wear it for safety, but to keep me in one place

I also forgot to mention I was on the phone with a friend in Seattle (he was on his cell) and he has a 06 BMW (forget what model) but he was doing burnouts for me to hear and all of a sudden I hear him cursing to himself and then another voice asking to put the phone away and for license and registration so he "dropped" it on the seat and I listened to my friend being questioned about why he was doing donuts by a Seattle LEO. I was LMFAO!

Only been pulled over once. I was on my way to the beach, and for some reason I was going 65+ in a 40. Right as I get to the top a cop passes me on the other side of the bridge. I get to the bottom and just make the light. I drive about two miles down the beach to my condo and merge and get into the turn lane when all of a sudden I see blue and red lights flying up the beach and slow down right behind me. I'm literally in front of my condo pulled over. He comes up to me and asks to see my license. My dog's barking at him like crazy and doesn't shut up. He takes my license and walks around to the front of my truck, I sure he was looking at the billet grille to help identify the truck. He comes back and asks me how fast I was going and I say about 45. He tells me that a blue truck was spotted doing 65+ over the bridge. He gives me back my license and tells me to watch my speed.

That would've been a big ticket.

My Escape was a cop magnet... I got pulled over like 4 times in it. 3 times was for various things like once they tried figuring out why I was doing the speed limit... yeah, no crap.

The 4th and last time was when I got my ticket for doing 62 mph in a 30 mph parkway because my throttle spring broke. Got it dropped to 31 in a 30 and paid like $160 for it and dearly on the insurance. That was 5+ years ago... my record is clean, and I plan on keeping it that way because I want to get my CDL license and work LH in a close number of years.
