Calls everydamnday trying to sell a warranty?

Does anyone else here get calls, I mean like 3 or 4, every FREAKIN DAY trying to sell an extended warranty?

I DO!

I'm at work all day so my home answering machine is full of these calls EVERY DAY...

They always say "press 1 (or whatever) to be removed from our list"..

My warranty from Ford is good for another 2 years, so I'm sure not interested in these fools..

How do I stop the calls? I'm not home to "press 1" when they call...

No *****, I have at LEAST 3 a day on the answering machine, sometimes more.. and they go on and on for many minutes..

And they're all just recorded pitches, it's not like I could even get the satisfaction of blowing the whistle into the phone..

just venting, I hate these people.. LOL

As you have never done business with them, if you are on the do not call list, you can report them. Some companies have been hit with big fines for calling people on the do not call. If you are not on the list, www.donotcall.gov. Takes up to 3 months for it to become totally effective. Put myself on the list 5 years ago. Number of cold calls has been reduced by about 99%. Occasionally I will get one, and report them. Can't say I have ever gotten a call twice from a company I have reported. Takes all of about 2 mins to register or file a complaint.

I don't get any calls, since I added my numbers to the donotcall.gov thing kingfish mentioned above, but I get a bunch of crap in the mail.

Definitely register your phones with www.donotcall.gov. I did this some years ago and the calls dropped drastically. I will get the occasional call from the police or fire depts and they say they are exempt. Any other types I just report them.

I bought a fridge from Sears and made the mistake of giving my phone number. Got three automated calls so far. I am not giving my number out to any retailers again. For all you know they may also sell or share their customer lists.

The crap mail is just as bad. I get them too. I'm on the do not call list as well.

Very good!!

I'll do the do not call thing tomorrow...

Never had a big problem with junk phone calls until this warranty thing.. tho now that I think about it, the dish-tv dudes call once a week or so.. nothing like the 1-5 a day of the warranty hounds tho.. LOL

My favorite is the woman who sounds like she's actually crying over the fact that my warranty may soon, or ALREADY HAVE expired.. She's good, she really emotes. Kudos to her voice-acting skills, but she should rot in hell.

Call Sears' Customer Relations Hotline at 1-800-549-4505 and get your phone number put on their "Do Not Promote" list.

The robo-calls will then stop.

read the fine print about donotcall, it can take a couple months for the robocallers to stop calling. but donotcall does make a big diference.

The only reason I have a land line is for my DSL. I have all the ringers turned off and no answering machine. I use my cell phone for everything, and if I have to give out my phone number for any reason except to someone who I *want* to call me, they get the land line number. I also use the land line for making all my local (free) calls to save on my cell minutes.

You can also put your cell on the do not call list. There is talk about the phone companies making the cell phone directories public, in which case you will start getting calls on them.
