ok well i reformated my computer and now i dont have a way to play dvds, whats a good software?(free)

Now I'll sit back and watch everyone else tell you where to pirate commercial software packages.

 

Windows Media player works for me and it is free.

 

1 things.

1 Windows Media Player will not play Dvd's if you dont have a decoder installed

SO......

1. Install the latets version of WMP 11
2. Go to download.com and do a search for dvd players and install one of them. They will act as a decoder allowing you to play a movie in WMP11

 

Windows Media 9 will play DVD's fine as long as you have the codecs.

If you want to do it this way, download the K-Lite Codec Pack, you need at least Standard - the Basic does not have the MPEG decoder.

I like VLC because it's nice and compact and needs NO codecs.

 

I started using VLC a couple months ago for torrent movies and it rocks. Way better them WMP. Wish I would have heard about it sooner.
