I personally don't care... there is no market for Daks because Dodge body panels rust out faster than if I left a nail out in salt... nor a stinky F150 that has sweaty towels as seat covers, dirty jockstraps, and of course that elusive 5 speed snail powered 4.2l v6.

The F-150 was the #1 stolen pick-up in 1998. Prolly cause it's so easy to pick the lock

Im not bothered if somebody sees my plate number, everywhere I drive somebody sees the plate. Besides not so much worried about the guy cross country looking at my plate number on a pic verses the guy standing right next to my truck taking a peek inside and not needing the plate

Someone would rather steal a FX4 or Lariat... before even looking at my truck... let alone know how to drive it.

It takes a little bit of practice driving that M5OD... it's a swanky and stank transmission.

Another great thread by the OP. The best part is the other member of our "dynamic duo" is also posting in here.

BTW, not talking from experience, but the majority of car theives are NOT PICKY about what vehicle they steal. Whichever one is EASIER, meaning quicker to get in and go.

A license plate says alot and that's why ppl block them. Image this. What if a theft had a family member that worked at the DMV. You dont even have to have nice things in your truck like a system, tv's, navi, etc. He may just need parts. All he has to do is tell his family member at the DMV and guess what? Stop being a wise aZZ. Alot of youngsters think they know it all. Just block the day plate, how hard is that to do.

My truck is not easy to steal. Especially since car theves go after automatics because they can get away quicker and easier.

Plus, my v6 F150 is like a bicycle going down the road... a cop would not have a problem intercepting it with a fart can police car... let alone a crown vicious.

My truck is parked 115 miles away from where it is registered 9 months out of the year. When it is parked at home, it is only at night. During the day the truck is about 40 miles from home. If you want it that bad, you can have it. Insurance would cover me.

What? Seriously, what do you think is going to happen? As if someone really needs to have a family member/friend at the DMV to look up license plates to find an F-150. There are only, what, several hundred thousand (even millions?) of them floating around? It's not like it's a rare vehichle.

Along those lines I could say "stop being paraniod!" I mean, people see my license plate every single day I drive. It's parked outside my office all day long. Besides, if you think you're really protecting your privacy by just blocking your plate number, you've got along ways to go.

Here ya go pmason....

People can read your plate and VIN everyday. Blocking it on a forum gallery does nothing. People are paranoid.

I really dont care. Everywhere I go people see my license plate. If someone wanted to steal the truck or anything in it they dont need my plate number to do it, thats why I have insurance. As far as the personal information goes, whose to say the guy driving behind you on your way to work dosent work at the DMV, or anyone walking past your truck in a parking lot could work for the DMV. If someone wants personal information on me there are better ways to get it besides my plate number.

I block my plate too.

one of my friends asked me why do i block my home phone number so it won't show on caller ID and that it was stupid for me to do so.

so i told him to sit down in front of my computer with me. i went to google and typed in his parent's home phone # and it pulled up their full names, and where they lived. from there i went to several sites that showed their ages and their birthdays, when, and how much they paid for their house, showed that they were 6 months late on paying their property taxes! then i showed that his father was sued back in 1997 for $18,000, and who sued him! i then started pulling up his family tree and that his uncle was a career criminal back in the eighties! i did all of this in under 10 minutes!

i could have went on and on but i just wanted to show him that that's why i block my home phone #!

in today's information age, it's too easy for someone to get ALL of your information.

i just posted pics of my truck along with a lot of information about my truck 2 days ago and i blocked out my plate too.
