I keep a big log of who does what on the road... it's probably like 100 pages thick now. I've put it into my database, and once a month a run a query on it, and the top 10 offenders, I send their plate numbers to the state police department. From me doing this, they've thanked me numerous times.

But I was also thinking about getting a dash top video camera and possibly a rear mount video camera and video tape these offenders.

I do know if you do catch someone doing wrong on the highway with a video, and proof of time/date, the person can be charged by having the video examined.

Honestly, why do you care?
I'm not trying to be a ****, but damn, it doesn't affect you, it's not hurting you, don't let the fact that he passed you tick you off.

First off, you don't know his circumstances, maybe he got a call from his mom who needs to be rushed to the hospital, maybe he has a very good reason for risking the ticket.

Or maybe he doesn't, regardless this isn't something that concerns you.
When I get some guy like that behind me, I even pull over as much as I can to let him go, I don't want a guy like that on my bumper, good riddance.

Here's what to do:

Just worry about yourself.

If more people just worried about themselves instead of sticking their nose in others people business, there would be so much less drama in the world.

You can't get worked up everytime you see someone doing something they shouldn't, otherwise you will work yourself into a tizzy.

I play cards with this guy every Friday,
his name is Mike "That's Not Fair" Taylor.

The dude bitches and moans about all this pointless stuff that has no affect on his life, he's just bitter that certain people seem to get away with things he can't, and this makes him an angry and miserable ***** who lets this stuff consume him.

The thing is, LIFE IS NOT FAIR, the sooner you understand this, the sooner you will stop trying to get people to yield to your point of view.

Don't be a Mike.

You have too much time on your hands.

You have too much money, too.

Not trying to be an ***, but why don't you use your resources more for yourself instead of on people who you couldn't care less about?

So basically, by concentrating on how others are driving and writing down plate #'s, which I'm going to assume you pull over and stop to do correct? Your probably the most dangerous "offender" on the road by not concentrating on your own driving....

If hes not driving dangerously then that doesn't make him a offender. Just because he may not be fully 100% concentrated on the road, doesn't make him a offender. No one ever drives 100% concentrated on the road. Its just how humans are I guess?

Better stay in school and plan on a different career. All it will take is one of your frierds or enemies to save these post and you tube videos and send to the department reviewing your background.....especially the part where you impersonated an officer.

You may not pass the phsyc's either based on your ease of being pissed off by speeders.

I like to work traffic, never a lack of people that speed, however, there are way to many calls in between traffic stops and writing tickets/going to court gets old quick!

Also if you think you can make a difference, think again. You can not change drivers habits, ever!

You may be the most dangerous one one the road. Not only do you have to shift your truck with one hand and steer with the other, but now you are writing plate numbers and violations down too.

Raoul always cracks me up!

Actually... I do keep a log book... but it's not nearly 100 pages thick... I only keep the ones that do grave junk... like run lights more than once, or drive like maniacs, or do weird crap around my truck while I'm minding my own business.

Also, there is nothing illegal about what I am doing what so ever. Plate #s are public information. If the state police say it's ok, then it must be ok.

When I turn them over to the State Police, they deal with it. After that, it's out of my hands, they can have fun doing whatever they do with them. I don't care to know.

As far as the video cameras, that is legal to.

In fact, I think there should be some sort of police program, where you get paid to have cameras on your vehicle and have them on when you choose to, and you submit a tape/dvd once a week and they send you a blank back. I'd do it in a heart beat.

that system is a good idea in theory but would be abused so quickly. the police would spend more time sifting through false reports then actually responding to the incidents. i would have a video system in my car for my own protection from police and other idiots before i used it for patrolling the streets

There was a program like this in Germany.
I think it was called the Jugend.
They reported directly to the Gestapo, who were the quasi State Police.

By the way, have you ever glanced in your rearview mirror and seen anyone looking at you and writing in a notebook?
