What the heck to do in Oklahoma?
Well, my job sent me to SW Oklahoma, and through their great organizational skills, I'll be here for 4 more days with nothing to do (a class I was supposed to go to was canceled, and I have to wait until Apr 1st to go to the next class in Washington state).
So here I am, stuck in Oklahoma, and I think I've already done everything there is to do here. I went to OKC, to the Bass Pro shop... didn't go downtown to drink, since I'm by myself and have to drive back to SW OK. I drove to Arbuckles, and Lawton to the wildlife refuge yesterday. Today, I was so bored I drove to Kansas.... freakin' Kansas!
I don't know why I thought Kansas would be any different.
No offense to anyone who lives here (or in Kansas), I'm sure the experience would be a little different if I knew someone here, or was from here.
Any ideas?

Dude:
It's Oklahoma!
I was stationed at Fort Sill many moon ago. AS I said before. It's Oklahoma.
Go to Tulsa an play a round at Southern Hills. Beautiful course.
Go downtown at night and check out the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. It's very well put together and something you should see while there.
Otherwise...what's to do? {insert crude jokes having to do with Okies and sheep here}

At one time civilians were allowed to rock climb at Fort Sill.
I think the place was called the punch bowl!

Not a civilian, so Ft. Sill is open to me.
Today, I just went up to Quartz Mountain an did a little hiking/ climbing. I didn't do anything aggressive, since I was by myself without any gear. (not that I'm a big rock climber, but I have some of the basics back home- good boots, ropes and biners)
Their idea of a hiking/climbing trail here doesn't really appeal to me, since I'm used to a lot more remoteness... I like to get out there, not just walk a trail that overlooks a golf course. Take what I can get I suppose.

I've never seen a tornado. I'd like to though.
I just got back from Jamaica, but I went in prime season, so it wasn't cheap. I'm thinking on heading back down sometime around October (hurricane season), right before a hurricane forecast. You can get an all inclusive resort, flight and the whole shebang for peanuts, especially when there's a hurricane in the forecast.

Man I was wondering the same thing. My parents just recently moved from Texas to Enid, OK. I spent spring break with them. There is absolutely nothing to do. Nothing.
And now, I'll be spending the ENTIRE summer there.

What can I do to prevent from losing my mind?
No sheep.
