I don't own an Edge, but I've considered downsizing to one.

I've looked at the Escape too. I think there decent. I would be more interested if they had a 3.5 instead of the 3.0.

The Edge is a pretty weird looking vehicle. I drove one, and it's a nice ride. It seems to have enough room for what I need. My biggest concern is that the 3.5 is going to feel sluggish compared to the 5.4 in the Expedition. I don't drive my personal vehicle that much, because I have a work vehicle that I drive most of the time. I don't spend that much in gas, because I don't go many places. I just hate having to go to the gas station after traveling only a couple hundred miles.

I think I being brainwashed into believing that I'm responsible for global warming because I drive a behemoth SUV. It makes me think I should get a "crossover".

the edge is tuned pretty well with the 3.5, it's pretty quick. Unfortunately it doesnt get the MPG it should be for being a crossover or considered an alternative for big SUV owners. The escape's 3.0 is definitly slower than the 3.5 in the edge, but i guess for next year theyre going with a new motor and tranny, dunno the details yet. The MPG makes up for the less speed.
