Quote: "I'm not saying I'm for a universal health plan, but something's gotta be done. I don't know what, and that's why I'm not a politician. The amount we pay keeps going up, but where's the standards to increase the level of care we do get? They totally f-ed the influenza vaccine this year, and have to start out totally new next year... what are they doing?
Sometimes it just seems as though a lot of what the health care providers do and ins. co.'s do is just one big conspiracy."

In Des Moines, Wellmark, the state's largest healthcare provider fought the building of a new hospital in West Des Moines, but after they approved it, they announced they were building a 500,000 sq. foot building downtown. If I remember correctly the cost of the new building will be 150 million.
We thinks we knows where the money is going......

The way I see it is:
Hillary. Bless her heart. She and her hubby have gotten so close to the Bush family over the last 4 years I believe voting for her will get you more of what we already don't want. Daddy Bush is so tied up with the CIA stuff and me and you are so unimportant in the scheme of things that I don't think this country could survive another 4 years of the same.
Osama Yomama. Bless his ever changing heart. Change. That's what he's running on and his World Poverty Bill will certainly do just that. You and I will have to come up with an additional 800 BILLION dollars to GIVE to the already worthless UN for poverty countries over the next 13 years. Like as if any of it will ever get there. The Bill also gives the UN full authority over ALL waters including ours. You and I will also have to dance to the UN mandate that says we will have no right to keep and bear arms. For the unintellligent that means you have to turn your guns over to the UN- all guns, all ammo. He is a used car salesman in the first class. His deception is incredible.
John McCain. Dear ol' John is running on his military career. He is a little guy with a little man syndrome. Just challenge him on anything and he goes whacko. His record of doing that is monumental. I fear his personal issues might get us into more problems worldwide. But if Colin Powell was his VP or Condi Rice, I might be persuaded to vote for this ticket. CP and CR bring a lot of credibilty and honor to the table.
So, who am I voting for? Alfred E Neuman as a write in candidate. Somebody will have to explain Alfred to the younger crowd.
Ya know, I've been around for the last 61 years and have always watched politics. My family has always been politcally active in Texas with me being the exception. I have family that are Mayors, Senators, etc but this election this time really has me concerned. There are no front runners, no heros, no Ronald Reagans, and really no hope. I fear for the future of this country. Hey, I'm getting up in age and it's you young folks that need to be heard. This is going to be yours to inherit and you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Abe Lincoln said "The Gov't can not and should not do for a man, what a man can and should do for himself". We have a society of folks that think the Gov't owes them a living. We have countries that are dependent on us for food rather than grow it themselves. WE have become the worlds fool. We are foolish for taking care of others when they have the capabilty of taking care of themselves. You younger folks need to get out and vote. You need to be heard regardless of wether I agree with you or not. You younger folks, Rome wasn't built in a day but it burned and was destroyed overnite. The USA that you know and love can go down just as fast. You have a right to vote, you have the right to be heard, and those rights are rare in this world. Use them and use them often.

I think Mccain is the lesser of the evils, but, only by a little. He rides a fine line on the conservative and liberal sides. On a lot of things you have no idea which way he is going to go until that day.

When thinking of Hilary, well I can't even do that. You might as well put Bill back in and just invite more terroists attacks on US soil and abroad.

So thinking of Obama please remember he has NO foreign policy experence at all. The only thing I have heard him say about foreign policy scares the hell out me - "I think we should invade Pakistan and try to work things out with Iran." WTF is he talking about?

I personally like Ron Paul but I don't think he has a chance.

Just my 2 cents.

And as for those government programs and "loans"... well, you'd have to read the fine print to really understand how those work.
I agree, the Military should be properly prepared for the task at hand.

I cannot justify supporting a candidate because they are the lesser of any evils. It is sad to have to say, but one day in my lifetime I hope to be able to say that I voted for someone because they were the best of the best - not the best of the worst.

Even worse Bighersh! Why give them another 4 years to make more mistakes? We all know the missteps Bubba made with 9/11, the school bombing, their hesitance to get involved in Bosnia, various bogus presidential pardons - including the one who donated several million to his library, the furniture & Art they stole from the WH and claimed as gifts, their wag the dog foreign policy , Whitewater, troopergate, travelgate, etc....

The Clinton's pastry chef was in the White House for 8 years too, but that doesn't make him qualified to run the country.

I really could care less about the color of their skin or what comes out their mouth. For me it is actions that speak, and very few politicians are taking the right ones.

Almost every issue affects another....

Healthcare is so expensive because hospitals have to provide services to all illegal immigrants at no cost. This makes it more expensive for those of us with healthcare. Granted there are other reasons healthcare is expensive but I see this as a major factor. National healthcare, in the long run will be just as expensive because instead of being "charged" for services when I need them, ie. copays, I will be "charged" every paycheck when the government takes about 50% of my earnings.
I am very happy with my healthcare plan but I also understand that the way the system is my costs will keep going up. When I started with Ford my healthcare costs were $0.00. Nothing deducted from my paycheck, no copays of any sort. We now have a $300.00 deductable, pay $25.00 copays for office visits, $10.00 for prescriptions, $100.00 for emergency room visits. I realize this is still VERY good coverage but my point is that I have less discretionary income that was going back into the economy but does not anymore. Therefore, higher healthcare costs also affect the economy.

Immigration---> healthcare--->economy

It is hard to fix one problem when it directly and indirectly affects another issue.

Obama wanting to give $850 billion of our dollars to the UN does nothing to help those without healthcare here.

I understand your logic, and I considered it. But I can't get myself to do it. But if I did it would be mrs clinton that I would vote for. One last term so people are SO sick of clintons that that name will be banned from text books
