Been there, done that while training for Navy security. For me it wasn't too bad, but some others reacted, well, differently. The biggest thing to remember is that you can function after being sprayed. It's a shock effect weapon. No damage, but causes you to think there's quite a bit. It's necessary to be sprayed b/c in the field, you are not under controlled conditions, and when/if you use it, you will get a taste. You can function after, but remember to breathe. That's the big one. Good luck, bro, and let us know how it turns out.

Got me on the right side of the face from just under my eye by my cheek back to my ear. It looked like pink spraypaint on my face. There was the 1/2 second initial shock factor because I didn't know what happened, but honestly I lost it and beat this kid to a pulp. Initially, it didn't seem to phase me but I am sure that was because of all the adrenaline (sp)... I had about 30 seconds before I had to run outside with everyone else in the party because you couldn't even open your eyes and everything was burning.
So, I will attest to the fact that Pepper Spray won't instantly immoblize it's victim, but within a short period of time, I was hurting after that...
Do you guys know if they make different degress or levels of potency. Basically, is the stuff that you can get over the counter as potent as the stuff law enforcement or other organizations use? I always wondered this...

I see all these Jail documentaries and COPS shows now when the convicts get blasted in the face and I always hear them scream. I knew they had to use something stronger than what I got sprayed with.
I'm back, and I have to say it was the worst thing I've ever felt, I'd rather get punched in the face then have to go through that again. JK007, you are correct, I takes a couple of seconds to kick in, about 6 seconds. It was the worst, you get snot running down like crazy, eyes slam shut, and a HORRIBLE burning sensation on your face. I would never ever want to go through that again, even some guys there were saying the military gas camber is nothing compared to OC. On a side note, the degrees of strengths very from department to department, ours are only 1,000,000 (SHU) but my personal one in my truck which is Fox Labs O/C has 2,000,000 (SHU) and you can legally buy stronger ones online and other stores, I believe the strongest one you can buy is 2.3mil (SHU), governments agencies can carry 3mil O/C, which I've been told makes you skin peel off like if you had a sunburn.
