I did a u-turn and got a ticket not too long ago. I have a clean driving record. It was some small town cop in a 2 cop town. Son of a bitch had the ***** to tell me to not u turn on his highways. HIS. I wanted to rip his throat out. I was in uniform and everything (military). Not that I expect that to get me out of things, but a u-turn for god sakes? But what I hated the most was his smart *** attitude! I would of loved to show him who had the best training if you know what I mean . People wonder why cops get jacked up all the time. Guys like this make a bad name for the decent ones. Goes for everything I guess though.

Just one of those days man. Pay it, and move on with life.
NEVER just pay a ticket...Do deferred, or defensive driving school...That way it will not go on your record

Last speeding ticket was about 1984-ish outside of Philadelphia.

3 AM on a 500 lane highway and I'm the only one on the road except the cop.

Maybe I can make a full quarter century without a speeding ticket.

I got nailed too, about 3 weeks ago, 84 in a 70.

185 smackers...

His highly accurate, sniper radar picked me out of a pack of 6-7 cars.

I couldn't be too pissed- I mean, I was speeding, I was indeed over 70, but I don't think I was doing 84. Not then, anyway.

Damn, smooth riding Ford Edge... You'll get a ticket quick in that SOB... It doesn't feel like you're going that fast. That was my first speeding ticket, after 20+ years...

I think with the advances in technology, the speed limits are way too low. The way vehicles are designed these days, it is safe to travel at 85 mph on a properly maintained highway.

Like in our Jeep Compass... you can do 85 mph all day long... I don't do it, my Dad does... I've learned from my 1 speeding ticket 5 years ago... but I can admit they are kind of low at 65 mph.

The speed limits of today are more for fuel economy than safety.

Eh... true... but if they want to concern their idealistic values on fuel economy, they'd drop the highway speeds down to 50-55 mph. I do admit, I get excellent fuel economy when I stay off the pedal.

Uh, its usually are about 55-60 for a plain two lane highway. Four lane and interstates around here vary from 65 to 75. My truck starts chugging gas once we start going over 65.

And there are some highways in around where I grew up that you HAVE to slow down for curves, you read about the people that don't think they have to in the newspaper.

Higher speeds is great and all, until you plow into the back of a combine or tractor you didn't know was there.
