how does that sound for all you gaming geniuses?
Sounds like you are onto something . Just stay with the 512 on the GPU, and upgrade to a 750w PSU if you can swing it. Also, be sure to focus heavily on cooling. A big heatsink fan will allow you to OC that chip.

Slammajamma - those temps are pretty hot. Is that under full load, or is that idle? Make sure your HSF is on correctly, and has a thin layer of thermal grease correctly applied.

here's an update on mine:
I am running at 3.4 on the cpu, and planning to bring it up. Here's my current 3dmark score:

I'd like to think I can do better...

looks like ill have to get that new processor. I think my processor may be shot due to a couple months ago with the poor cooling i have, there was a lot of dust in the case and it would run at 80C in games..

Since we've got all the computer guys in here, I'm gonna go ahead and jack this thread a bit. The digital temperature gauge on the case of my Micro ATX just stopped working. The LED is still lighting up, but there is no display. Any ideas?

Oh yea...here's another question. I installed a new Hard Drive last night to get some extra space going. Now I'm running dual HD's. Only problem is that my 2'nd hard drive got set to the Disk E:, I wanted it to stack with my C: drive. How do I go about doing this?

Nice system, and that case does look well designed...with one exception. The door. I've never been a fan of systems with doors over the CD-ROM drive as I access it entirely too often. That said, my current system has a door. But the case is sweet, features are awesome and I love the looks. My system is starting to be a little dated. I'm contemplating throwing a little bit of money at it for some more RAM and to upgrade my CPU to one of AMD's Dual Core processors since my mobo will support it. Maybe a new GPU and I can get some more life out of it.

Vista sucks, unless you want to play games with DX10.

Case....

can anyone answer my question about my processor?

i have a 2.8ghz pentium d dual core. several months ago, before i took canned air to it, for a decent amount of time it ran more than 60 degrees celcius, and in games, above 70. Now i know that is VERY bad for processors, but do you think it has her my processor in a long term effect way? I wanna make sure this new processor ill be getting next month is necessary, and that its not just poor cooling that is making this soon to be badass pc running like a dog.

Those temps could have affected the cpu. It's hard to say though if that's why you are running slow. It could be the OS that's fried, if it's gunked up. If you want to find out for sure, back everything up, and reformat the HDD. If it still runs slow, then you've prolly got some heat damage.

im pretty positive my OS is clean. Ive run everything imaginable. advanced Windows care professional is one of the besto ut there. Im just wondering why after doubling my ram, my text now lags in this exact text box im typing in right now. Im buyin a couple fans tomorrow. 1 120mm to replace my current, and an 80mm as an addon ill just stick somewhere , and possible a PCI slot exhaust fan..
