spam happens. anywhere you submit your address to any online site it could be bugged and pulled off even if the site doesnt know about it, or if the site doesnt actively sell the email.

im sure there are databases that can be cracked from google or aol or whoever your email is through

Your e-mail address is not visible on this website. Most of the time those e-mails go to XXXXX@yourisp.net where xxxx is randomly generated. Now if you have your own e-mail web site, then they can pull that information from a Who Is look up. Usually those will have your Name and or Phone number on it somewhere.... Freaked me out the first time I received one of those, until I realized they were pulling the information from a Who Is lookup on a web site I was waiting to expire and Private Registration expired four months before the site.

No, I have not received that one yet, but sure it will come through one of my accounts...

I've been getting a flurry of those lately -- I never knew there were so many profitable enterprises that I could become involved with in the Orient and the UK......

I got an email from a female "member" on here asking about transmission information for her son's truck. Why she picked out my name, I don't know. Thought I was being nice by replying that she should post her request in the transmission forum. Ever since then, I have been getting tons of spam. So much for trying to be nice. That's it dammit! No more being nice for me!!!

I use gmail and it does a fine job of filtering the BS. I rarely see any spam. I just delete my spam folder every week or so and never have to look at them.

well at the firehouse that i'm a member of... .we get spam faxes.... and at the college i attend there was this one employee constantly sending out e-mails... like instead of a weekly calender of events, she would send each event out individually to everyone and do this through each and everyday and it finally pissed me off to the point that I would just start fowarding her e-mails back to her.... i dont think she ever caught on.
