Jesus some of these posts are hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. I'm really glad that some of you are not judges either. The guy said he stopped, there is no one else's word to take so why are you going to jump the man saying he didn't? Maybe I missed something, were a lot of you there for this traffic stop and didn't say anything the first time around? Grow up, errr I mean MAN UP!

stupid ticket

Just thought i'd share this one. The first and only time I've been pulled over was this past Sept. I was headed south on hghwy 87 to go help some of my friends move up to Lubbock from Midland. About five miles north of Odonnell, a town of maybe 500, i see a silver, unmarked cop car (black rims, spotlight). I have my cruise set on exactly 75 like i always do, but for some reason i think "i might want to back it down one or two." But just as I'm putting my thumb over the cruise controls, i see a state trooper go by and it hits its lights. My first thought was "Are you freaking serious?! It's an empty highway in the middle of Lynn, County Texas. What the hell." Anyway, SHE asks me "Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?" "Yes." "I clocked you at 75, that's 5 miles over." Well, she was nice about it, didn't give me a ticket for THAT, buuuuuut, she then asked me "Sir, roll your window down about half way." "Okay...(confused)." She pulls out this little box and puts it on my window. She tells me my tint is too dark, and she's going to write a ticket for that! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! I was definitely pissed but i remained calm. After she left, however, i was livid, as you can probably imagine. 140 dollar ticket for window tint!!! Well, i contacted the judge and told him that i bought the truck like that from the Ford dealer in Lubbock. He said he'd wave the ticket if I just changed it. So, I did. Don't like it, but it's legal now. But still, everyone knows in Texas that the highway patrol will give you 5, am i right?
whew, long post...

I've been followed into gas stations, waited for me to pump my gas and then followed me home, left about 5 minutes later and the officer was waiting on a cross street by my house. He then follows me for about 1 more mile, pulls me over for mud flaps. I'm sure there is a bit of envy or bitterness towards a younger guy owning something nice, but it's unfortunate when you finally have something this nice and all they want is to see you lose it. I say that because I'm pulled over at least once every 2 months. I know a couple of the officers who are great guys, on two occasions I've heard them tell a family member of mine that works in the local pd, "they really shouldn't have given him that ticket." They're not as perfect as some here would like to believe.

In fear of losing my license now, I am extremely careful about my decisions. But sometimes even that is not enough. I know if I lose my license this truck will have to be sold, anyone driving it will be pulled over instantly. It sticks out like a sore thumb here.

My neighbor is a CHP and at 45 years of age I think he's a great father, great neighbor. He refuses to spend time around the officers he works with while offduty as they have pride/power issues or are too ****y for their own good. That to me says a lot.

Knowing what I know about 'small towns' in Missouri, you're lucky you didn't get dragged out, beat, then made to say SEEWWWWWW-EEEEEEEE about 10 times throughout the night.

Where were ya, Z? Viburnum? I've had a chat with one of the two officers there once. LOL! Nice guy... 55 in a 40...

You're not getting the point. He is claiming doing nothing wrong and was just a victim of a holiday crunchdown, you were in the wrong for your violation. Don't be weakminded, if you feel the officer was wrong fight it, it's attitudes like this that is the cause of diminishing rights.

X2. They don't deserve the money when they are wrong about the violation.

Exactly.

Personally... I think there are too many bogus laws too.

I think there needs to be an amendment to the Constitution of "Common Sense of the Government," in which states that they operate with common sense, meaning you don't make a law stating that say someone riding a bicycle has to follow the same rules as people driving metal boxes, yet you don't need to be of any age to ride a bicycle, no permit, registration, safety regs, etc.

As this is one law that should be abolished or changed by a lot as there is no comparison to a motor vehicle to a bicycle.

Nah I had just gotten out of Westphalia, MO. Few miles up the road and I might have gotten the SEEWWWWWW-EEEEEEEE treatment though.
