I ride about 1000 miles a year... but I've never been able to get a moving violation... I've blasted through stop signs and red lights in front of cops and they don't care.

Why?! Because I want to go in front of a judge and be like, well, I was riding on my Trek Portland and my cruise control got stuck thus making me blow through a stop light.
Why? I am a Cat 3 USCF Racer...ride for a large local team. on a training ride we had 2 riders OTB, to bridge they blew a sign. Cop game them both tickets. 1 for Failure to stop...and secondly, no license. 400.00 each they had to pay.

I intentionally ran 40 through a 25 right in front of a cop (on my trek 5200) to try to get a speeding ticket... He didnt do anything

Yes, the Keller PD officer also cited them both for not having an ID with them.

How's that for suck-o-ramma?

But they were riding bicycles... I never have anything on me., so if someone tries to pilfer me while I'm out, I won't have anything of value with me.

I always carry an ID with in addtion to an ankle strap with all the contact info a medic or officer would need...in addition I carry my cell phone with me and have loaded a contact in the phone called "ICE" Incase of Emergency...there they will find all my medical and phone numbers. That came in handy when I took my first ambulance ride this year.

Point is...when you are on the road, you go by the same laws as cars and motorcycles, that includes proof of insurance and Drivers license.

Trust me, we have the whole conversation on tape from the Keller PD. We tried to fight with the Texas Bicycle Coalition.

actually, i dont know i would stop if a cop tried to pull me over while i was on my bike. Might even play tricks on him....like stop then take off in a sprint on my bike when he gets out of his car.

Agree, in certain settings, like a college campus on a mountain bike, full suspension with lock outs....adios. On a road bike on city streets....no way. On a trials bike running 28:16 gears in the city...I hardly think so unless you can spin at 140 rpm for 20 min.
