Dumb phone question??

Alright, I have a Razr thru Verizon. I cant stand that "windchime" sound that it does when I get a text message, a few thousand a month that is. And I like that one the best out of all the ones in the phone. Ive heard other phones txt sounds that are a lot easier on the ears and less annoying. Id put my phone on vibrate but I dont feel it most of the time. I dont want it to play music like my ringtone everytime either. I just want something easy on the ears and less annoying. Ive tried all my ringtone programs thru Get It Now, but they're all strictly music. Does anybody know anything I dont as to where I can get one?
Thanks guys!

Ahhhhhh... there it goes again!

i have the razr from alltel so it may be a little differents but to change the ring tone for the texts go to your menu then go to setting, then ring styles, then make sure its not on silent or vibrate then go to the details of that option then go to inbox and select the tone you want

whoops i guess i missed a line or two on your post hold on i have the software you need, gotta find it

ok in this thread is all the info you need to make your own free ring tones, you just need a usb cable that fits your phone or a bluetooth connection thing that goes in your computers usb drive

The new razors have micro SD cards too, no software needed, just a regular SD card reader and and micro-SD to SD adapter.

Yeah, I already do that stuff. I have a 1gb micro SD card, MPT and a whole bunch of mp3's on it. The things is, I dont really want it to play music or anything for a txt msg. I guess I would just like access to another brands phone default tones if ya catch my drift. :o

do a google search for midi files, or wav files, or free ringtones, or sound effects any will give you thousands of pages with thousands of free sounds to down load on your computer then load to your phone.

yeah with mpt you dont have to use a song you can use any audio file for instance i have parts from the movie super trooper and the simpsons movie, my favorite text tone is the part in super troopers when farva goes up to the car and say "license and registration, chicken *******ers" but yeah just download any sound you want then load it to your phone
