No spanking should not be illegal. There are enough rules and regulations these days on the way our children are treated both at home and at school. Parents need some sort of leverage on their side to "encourage" kids into proper behavior.

Nothing will ruin your life more than squeezing out puppies. So you might as well get some payback and beat them when they act like brats. It's called muscle memory. If they mis-behave, nothing will help them remember that they were being brats better than inflicting pain on their muscles. If corporal punishment did not work in a particular instance it means you didn't hit them hard enough.
