P.S. buy the Special edition Red and white

I want to b/c I really like it but the I have a grey and red 08 Raptor that matches my truck really well so I think Im going to by the same color but a 700 plus the red and white special edition will cost more than $7700 otd. Also two red and grey atv's that matching the truck will look beautiful.

PS the $7700 that you said sounds about right, were you talkin about the SE or the regular edition.

700 all the way man. Got mine right after the 07's came out. $6650.00 OTD. Don't get a 660, I know you can get them cheep but they arnt worth it. I can smoke them easy, only the 450's give me a run for the money. I really wanted the 450 at first but they just felt too small, 6' 1" 240lbs. I have road the my buddys 450 with a pipe, jet kit, and we have raced about a 100 times and it alway comes down to who gets off the line better.

You should be able to get an Se for close to that. You should be able to get a base edition less than 7,000 otd and if you can't your getting bent over.

Good lookin' quad!! I like it a lot. I have always loved the look of the Raptors. If you felt to small on it at your size, there is no way I could make it work. Well like I said a few times on here, my first thought when I decided to buy one of these, was to get a Raptor. And I think you guys have made my mind up for me. I do like the 450's, but I thin overall, I will be happier with the Raptor.

So to my next question. Why should I get the 700 over the 660? Just because of the speed difference? Or because of the tranny problem?

EFI, water cooled, little wider, newer, more power. Plus it's like what my wife said. I told her I didn't know if I wanted the 450 or the 700? She said what is bigger? I said 700.....she said "Then get the 700!!"

I agree. The 700 Raptor is an all around better quad than the 660.
Also, my 400ex is a 2000 model.

What Bigdad said

Plus the 660 is a lot tippier in turns. The 700 is a lot better handling than the 660 and the EFI is smmoooooooth IMO if your gonna buy a Raptor You might as well buy the latest and greatest. Theres a reason they went to the 700 instead of sticking with the 660.

So you think that $7700 otd on an Regular 08 Raptor is too much? (not an SE) Remember that Im getting it for $6800 but the taxes, title, registration, etc. brings it to $7700. NYC sales tax is 8.75%. Fellas please weigh in. I want to make sure that I dont get bent ova. Also how many of you guys are registering your ATV's. I think that here in NY you have too.

It all really depends on where you live. I have heard of guys getting the base 2008s for less than 7k otd. But if you have shopped around and thats the lowest you can find then you might have to bite the bullet unless you want to look out of state or something. Its a little steep but it really isn't outrageous.
