Worst one, was me pullig a buddy.
I had only had my S10 for like a month.
Hes was a 78 Chevy.
It had broke down at teh river, he left it over night and we found out with radio hack sawed out of the dash and brand new holley 650 dbl pumper unbolted and gone.....
So we decide to pull it home. Along the way we kept gaining speed. He wasnt slowing me down when going down the hills at all. Hes not known for having alot of sense and being a litlte bit crazy. So I blamed it on him being a moron. We get to the stop sign at the end of the gravel road to turn onto black top highway. He's not slowing me down at all. I look in the rear view and see him with a panic look pumping the brakes..... SHISTA!!!!!
So I slow down slowly and was going to let him bump me then bring it to a stop and call a tow truck or go get a trailer or something.....
Just as the bumpers where getting ready ot make contact, his brakes catch and lock up. 20' of slack in the log chain gone!!!!!
It violently threw me up into the windshield! We were only doing about 20-25mph.
When I had hooked us up, I didnt have anywhere to hook on to mine so I had just wraped the chain around the bumper. It about ripped the bumper off. It was beyond repair and when the bumper folded it also smashed the bed corners. What a mess that was.

Question

TTT

Can anyone shed some light on the new donation laws for tax purposes? My understanding is that you can only claim $500.00 on your taxes when donating a car to charity.

I have no idea, probably have to talk to a CPA.
tuff call if thats it.
$500 deduction probably equals about $125 kick back.... Maybe
Or take your $60 now.....
I still say you should get more than $60 out of it at a recycler.

Actually $500 wouldn;t be bad, even if they went and bought another engine at the junk yard for another $500. For $1000 they'd still have a nice beater DD good on gas.

Personally I like the 3.1, I think Wookie just got ahold of a lemon. My wifes 94 Berreta had a 3.1 and that thing had some zip. We bought it with 20,000 miles on it and drove it to 50,000 + before trading for an Exploder. Only thing I did was put a battery in it and a set of spark plugs. To be perfectly honest I don't remember even changing the oil on it. I'm sure I did several times, but I don't remember it.

I might actually be able to get this thing on the road. I wish I could figure out why the temp guage pegs after running for 1 minute, I know the motor isn't overheating. The guage reads normal when started then just pegs to hot after like one minute of running, any ideas? By the way I brought it home today, an interesting tow to say the least!
