Another prayers needed thread.

My dad (62) has been having problems with his eye and what he thought was sinus problems for a few days. Well, yesterday he discovered he has a fuzzy spot in his vision in his right eye, kind of in the peripheral vision of his right eye, towards his lower nose. Think of it as a rectangle, lower left corner. Mom took dad to the opthamologist and he ran lots of vision tests and said my dad lost about 25% of the vision in his right eye. He said what happened is a piece of plaque broke loose and lodged itself in an artery for his retina's blood supply, causing it to lead to the vision loss. Basically saying my dad had a mini stroke in his eye. He also said it's permanent as far as the loss of sight is concerned, but my dad is already seeing through/past the fuzzy patch, so hopefully he'll recover his partial sight loss.

He then sent my dad to his family doctor to run blood tests and check for arterial blockages, carotid artery and such, listening with a scope. The Dr. said he couldn't hear any blockages, I suppose they can hear that sort of stuff. They are running blood tests, and are going to run scans of my dad's heart and arterial systems tomorrow to maybe see where the plaque dislodged from. He also ran dad's blood pressure and it's high normal on the so called BP scale, but are setting him up on BP medication as a precaution for now.

Then my son is running a 103 fever this morning, barfed, wife took him to the Dr. and he has strep throat and will be out of school until Thursday at least.

So, if you guys could keep my dad and my son in your prayers we'd all appreciate it.

God Bless.

Stealth.. I said a few for your father.

I am sure he will be just fine, just follow what the doctors say to do to help with any further problems.

Your situation is nothing like mine where my father passed early this year. I had actually purchased his truck from my mother after he passed.

We started also with a bad weekend also. A brother police officer working an extra job had arrested a suspect breaking into cars in a apt complex pklot. He handcuffed the suspect but later while processing the scene and possible evidence, the suspect pulled a gun from concealment and fired on the officer striking him twice in the chest. He ran off and and had fired his weapon on himself ending his own life.

My brother officer will be ok and I hope he will stay with us on the dept. Many have life changing decisions after something like that.

Only thing I can say is be there for him. Talk and visit. Parents will not be there foerever and let them know they did a great job raising you to the person you are. Its always scary when that realization comes.

Yeah, I already visited mom and dad today. It's easy when they live a block away. They always know I'm there for them just like they are for me, us.

Hey Stealth---hang in there---I have a 21 year-old daughter and 19 year old son. Many trips to the MD and ER. In additon, my dad is having a cardiac cahteterization on Wednesday---something "abnormal" with his stress test. The cardiologist said not to worry, butit is diffuicult not to.

I hope andpray that both your father and your son feel better and get healthy quickly.

I also pray for you to have a reduced stress level, as well.

Tim C.
