Ain't a day goes by when I don't think think of things I wish I had said or done with my dad.

Pulmonary embolism, one minute he was talking to my mom and he dropped dead on the spot.

Absolutely the worse day of my life.

And we had just started really getting close after battling for years.

Prayers are out there dude.

I don't wanna sound too preachy plus I can't even remember the last time I went to Church.

You can still forgive him and I am sure he forgives you. If you and him started to come together again, both of yall opened that road. Follow it still. Talk to him, tell him a joke or two. I do with my dad, especially political ones since he was a democrat and I am a Republican. We always butted heads on that and we had a good time with it. Also, ask what he would want you to do and ask for his guidance.

Update:

My dad is still the same, awaiting test dates. My son on the other hand isn't doing so well. He's still running a fever, which we're monitoring, and we took him to the doctor again, they did a blood test and on top of him having strep throat, he has mononeucleosis. Nice. He'll be out of school for a while, and we'll be lysoling everything in the house he touches daily. He is eating and drinking, no more nausea, and has times where he feels good. Playing alot of playstation.

Thanks for the prayers!

Another update. My son is doing much better. Today no fever.

My dad, not so good. My parents left to go to my nephew's soccer game today and on the way my dad said his right arm felt numb, surefire sign of a stroke. They did a u turn and went straight to the ER. Ran some tests, came back with the results, doc said there was no sign of brain damage, but the carotid artery to the left side of the brain is almost 100% blocked. He'll be going into surgery most likely tonight.

Please pray for my old man. This is really starting to suck.

OK, now they're transferring to a more specialized hospital, his condition is worse than they thought. I'm scarfing down dinner and heading to the Hospital. Oh joy. I can't wait until everything is back to normal.

OK, here's the scoop.

My dad and mom left to go to my nephew's soccer game and my dad felt numbness in his left arm. They made a u turn and went to the ER at Huguley hospital. Here's the bad part. They did a sonogram of his carotid artery and said he had 100% blockage and they couldn't do anything for him, sent him to Plaza medical in Ft. Worth. My dad has no symptoms of a stroke at all, I'm thinking the idiot doing the sonogram did something wrong.

So, he's at the neural intensive care unit for 24 hours so they can monitor his brain function, which is normal so far. They are going to do a brain MRA, similar to an MRI, and some other test. Monday they do an angiogram to pump die into the so called blocked artery in his neck to check bloodflow and then they'll decipher what to do next, ie surgery to repair the blockage, or a stint.

He's fine right now, they're just monitoring his vitals right now.

I'm thinking he'll be fine, once they figure out what course of action to take. He's healthy as an ox, no high BP, cholesterol is a tad high, non smoker, light drinker, parents eat right-low fat diet. This is just a blip on the screen, but it could have been worse. Thank God they made that u turn.
