FWIW, I am married to a great lady with 4 kids from a previous marriage. We have been married 9 years and have a 6 yr. old together. Her kids are 21, 20, 18, and 15. I love them like they are my own. She is 6 years older than me, and she got married at 18. When we met, she was a schoolteacher, (hot) and we hit it off right away. I was introduced to the kids shortly after we started dating. They liked me and I liked them, and I used to always say "I'm never going to have kids!" Amazing how things change when you meet someone that you are really interested in.....I love this woman so much, I was willing to accept the kids in my life, too, and it turned out that the kids only added to our relationship. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2008. Don't let the kids blur your vision. You will know if this person is right for you, and maybe, like me, you will all make a terrific family unit!

(BTW, my wife is 42, 5'7", 120 lbs, D cups, and all this after 5 kids! )

I tried dating someone with kids.

Two rules come to mind that I lived by.

1) Don't be an ***, especially in front of the kids.

2) Choose your words and actions carefully...kids pick up everything they see you do and say.

So 5 across the eyes for the dishes not done when he gets home from work would be a bad idea?

Get out while you still can...

I dated a single Mom for nearly two years...

It was fun, she was cool- I'm the only daddy her son would have (may have) known, since I met her when he was 5 months old. But, I knew sooner or later, I was gonna hear, "You ain't my Daddy". And I know I'd have to choke him...

So, if you're ready to be instant Daddy- go for it.

If you're not ready- take your time, or leave while there are no real bonds.

I know how gutless that sounds, especially to women, but sometimes it takes guts to be a coward. Relationships are tough enough without adding step kids, baby's daddy, you ain't my daddy, etc...

Of course, if she's r~e~a~l~l~y hot, all that goes out the window.

I dont think Im getting out. I am going to give it a couple more weeks and see what happens. Its actually working out pretty good right now because she cant come over too much. Her parents live 3 hours away so she really doesnt have to many options wit watching the kids. So I still get the girl but I also get my freedom. Like I mentioned earlier...I like this girl. So far shes a lot different than the other girls I have dated recently. Most of them are psychos! This girl is actually grown up and mature.

here is a picture of her....

Wow you guys are tough!!!

Now I know why I worry about being "marketable".

What if the role was reversed..... y'all musta had some really bad experiences to be so anti-children and dating....

Dave, I just recently (this past saturday) got married to my wife. When I met her 3 years ago she told me she had 2 kids. ME being great with kids knew that wouldnt be a problem....thing is, I knew instantly I wanted to be with her. Not just because she was hot...but she had that look that you knew meant something. Anyway. Im going to say GO FOR IT....but please be respectful of the kids...they know what is going on, but they also have needs that need to be met..and if you cant provide that, then dont tease them
