"Toyota is slipping"-Consumer Reports
i love this news. I think toyota cut off its "personal favors" for consumer reports. maybe if they cut off their personal favors with motortrend theyll stop having their cars be named vehicle of the year..
No foolin', I'm tired of those yuppies praising them for this and that. Ford I think is making great strides to be on top. Just make cars and trucks competitive in every segment. If you build it, they will come. Anything is better looking than Toyota's so make a decent design and make sure quality etc is also present. Then, market the damn thing to areas (East and West coasts) where it's like bieng in Tokyo. How do you think the japs would react if GM or Ford was #1 in their homeland?

As soon as Toyota sorts out the 1st year Camry 6spd auto transmission, it will be as reliable as any other Toyota. Toyota already corrected the camshaft issue with the Tundra, and its been smooth sailing for the truck ever since.

what a tool. Are you going to deny the transmission problems on the tundra? Are you going to deny the problems they are having with the assisted tailgate? there are numerous other problems with the turd. But a toy apoligizer won't let you see the truth.

ford or gm #1 in there homeland?? it will never happen. Japan is a protectionist country. That is why I will do all I can not to buy there products. trade fair and all bets are off.
Aren't we still at war with Korea?! Then how the heck do we have Hyundai's in America?!
I am beginning to think that Toyota is trying to come to America and steal the workers that could be working for the Big 3 in spite of many reasons. Whether their products are good or not. But at the rate they apparently going, they are going have some issues with staying in America... but then again, who knows... everything is some kind of marketing ploy these days. It isn't about who makes the best product, it is all about who wins the race of who sells more in a given period of time.
The Toyota Tundra for example reminds me of sell now, test later. I hope to also let Toyota know that they royally F'ed themselves with the v6 Camry, if it is really as bad as CR says it is. But who knows... really.
These magazines and editors are worse than maggots on garbage... they just don't know when to turn into flies and fly away, as in they don't know when to start writing something with some actual value, rather than total junk.

Ya, North Korea has that retarded leader kim cho who gives a crap ready to fire nukes at everyone.
Another note I forgot, someone told me to avoid bad press, Toyota and Honda I think have "service campaigns" and everyone thinks it's cute. They also said that you have to have you're car serviced by them and in doing so allows the campaign to happen. I dunno, but it seems shady enough considering top officials are bieng charged in Tokyo with trying to cover up safety concerns etc.

Toyota is making more of their cars and trucks in the U.S. in larger and larger numbers.
Think that might have something to do with this

Rather than blaming the American assembly line workers blame the people at Toyota who came up with thing. The engineers are the ones who designed the weaker frames, bed bounce, bad crash test ratings, spongy breaks, breakable camshaft engines, etc. From another forum...
What this is more indicative is of the growing 'birthright' mentality at Toyota.
The current crop of engineers at Toyota collectively, IMO, view Toyota's quality as something inherited, and not the result of continual attention to details.
