Thump,

I've had two pair of Costa's, a pair of Oakley's and currently Maui Jim. I wear mine to bed practically and in all conditions. The Costa 580's are awesome but Maui Jim has impressed the hell out of me. I'd say the Maui's fall in between the Costa 400's and the 580's as far as lens performance and are tough as anything, as are the Costa's. They are both awesome on the water and I'm thinking of getting a pair of blue mirror 580's just for offshore and keeping the gray lense Maui's for everything else. The Maui's fit me better otherwise it's a toss up with Costa for me. The Oakley lenses began disentigrating after a few months and though they fit awesome I'll never buy those again as that is rediculous for that price sunglass imo. Anyone who spends a lot of time on the water will laugh at thinking $200 is a lot for good shades, it's pretty much a requirement imo unless you like headaches.

It really depends on the style that fits you best, which style you like and what they are used for. I think i paid $160 for mine

I like the Maui Jims. I'm on my second pair. The first lasted 8 years of hard street use. They only broke when I forgot I put them on my carseat and sat on them. The lens cracked around one of the screws, so tecnically I can still wear them, but they are rather beat up so I bought a new pair for everyday use and wear the broke ones for fun.

I'm a Maui Jims fan also and on my second pair. First pair broke in half when I left them on the seat and set a computer on top of them. If these ever brake I might try another brand but I doubt it. The Maui Jims just seem right for me.

I'm really liking the Half Jackets, Thump Pros, and maybe the Hijinx. Probably buy a pair of glasses for the girlfriend too.

I go for function, don't care about fashion. Serengeti Drivers, they are photochromic and have gradient tint.

Thats funny you say that. I didn't think anyone here would know anything about Serengeti. I can keep pretty good deals on them but I'm willing to give the Oakleys a try first.

I am in love with my Oakley Spikes. Best shades I have ever had. I have a pair with the titanium lenses and a pair of polarized ones. Comfy and stylish.
