The rumors that I've seen say Randy has 2 more years on his UFC contract. If he un-retires and tries to fight during that time, Dana White will try to make sure it is in the UFC. Expect UFC to litigate or demand compensation if Randy tries to fight Fedor in M1.

From what I've read, UFC negotiated at length with Fedor. They thought they had reached an agreement, and the last contract they submitted to Fedor for his signature had agreed to Fedor's demands. So they expected him to sign. He basically took the the UFC's terms to M1, and got Mark Cuban to pay him more.

With Fedor going to M1, not only did Randy's dreams to fight Fedor evaporate, but RC found out that the UFC was willing to pay Fedor way more than Randy was under contract for. When they would not renegotiate his contract up to what they were offering Fedor, Randy retired (to pursue his movie career, among other things). He may have thought retiring again would end his UFC contract and he could fight Fedor at M1 for big $$$ later, but it looks like UFC disagrees.
