How to drive a Hummer in Iraq

Saw this in class today. If only we could do this with our trucks.

Will somebody in the Military please explain???

I figure they must have some sort of visual signal so people know to move (some moved way early)... Pretty cool, though, that they can give love taps to get poeple out of the way...Must have been something important they were headed to...

Sorry my friends, I won't win any points here.

A doughnut run by some of the Blackwater Gang, perhaps.

It disgusts me to see how some Americans act in Iraq and I find it no wonder that the Iraquis do not respect their "American Rescuers" as much as those of us here at home think they should.

Put yourself in the position of those 8-10 drivers who had no place to go when they were bumped out of the way by a HumVee.

Sucks, and I see it as a leadership failure, whether that HumVee was a US Military vehicle or one of those mercenary types.

Keep a good eye on the Hearings and the FBI investigation of the Blackwater performance in Iraq. Might learn something.
Bill

They will not stop their vehicles due to the fact that a stationary object is an easier target to hit with missiles/projectiles. They keep moving so that in case something does happen, they aren't stranded in traffic with no way out. It's all just a way to try and keep the soldiers in the convoy a little bit safer.

lol . Who cares? The hummer needs to get where it needs to get, and those people obviously dont take pride in their vehicles like we do, they just have them to get where they need to be. Besides, they gotta worry everyday about it being burned in a suicide bombing, who needs insurance

Exactly, 6 years active duty USMC working on hmmvs. There is a turrent on top of that thing with a guy exposed to anyone that wants to kill him! Thats why they dont stop. Its not because they can, its because they have to, so we can welcome them home.
