Bill
We are over there trying to leave a peaceful place for dumbasses that blow themselves up and killing innocent people walking down the street and will continue to do so after we leave. I support our troops 100% but we need to get the hell out of Iraq.

My brother is in Iraq now as a backup driver. I promise they were trying to get to soldiers in a bad spot or escape someone chasing them down. They do what needs to be done, its not always pretty

I think the poster of that comment wasnt really thinking in the shoes of the driver and all that were in that humvee. They were in a foreign country with a bunch of crazy people that will pop out of no where and take a couple pop shots and you with a AK or a RPG then go away. Leaving you either dead or injured. If I was the driver, id be doing that exact thing. That traffic was a perfect place to get blown up or shot up. He was just tryin to get the hell out of dodge.

Put yourself in the position of those 8-10 drivers who had no place to go when they were bumped out of the way by a HumVee.

Sucks, and I see it as a leadership failure, whether that HumVee was a US Military vehicle or one of those mercenary types.
I agree that this isnt the best way to win over the iraqi's, BUT its either bump a few people out of the way to accomplish the mission or send some people home in a flag draped coffin due to small arms fire or explosives.

How can you say it is lack of leadership? I would say good job on the leadership. I know i wouldnt want the burden of someone in my charge dieing, because i was asking the iraqis to "please move to the side, thank you". they were making the correct call for the situation.

Until your in the hot seat who are you to judge? I'am guessing by your comments you've only experianced the war from the comfort of your living room.

Listen, this is a really really personal subject to me,
when ya'll are able to say that you have been over there, and you have driven in the city, THEN you criticize the driver.

the PROBLEM with that video....... I can almost SWEAR that's a video during one of our patrols.....

listen, it's like this. over there they have what's called ROE (RULES OF ENGAGEMENT)they are the STUPIDEST rules ever. the Iraqi people know that when an american convoy comes through, get the hell out of the way. this video is probably about 4 years old though looking at it. i quit plowing through traffic when they started using VBIED's.
they drive like you've never seen. i've seen the CRAZIEST stuff ever. ever seen a line to get gas that was 3 miles long? you shut down the highway system for a ied or something and all of sudden the 4 lanes of traffic turn into 12. it's hell....

and YES, it does F*CK with your head when you get back. driving to work and home daily is just pure terror. go somewhere where someone really, really, really, and then tries, 13 different times, to kill you.

Meh my brother just came back from IRAQ and he says the US Military could pretty much do what they wanted. I cant even post the funny stories he told me. He say yeah there are dangerous areas but the Media over glorifys things. He also said the US military killed hundreds of thousands of civillians during bombing and alot of the work there was cleaning up and disposing of the dead bodies but you dont hear that in the news.

Most here wont listen. They wouldnt know how to defend a country, they are liberal pussies that hide behind people like you while complaining the whole time. Thanks again for what you did and have gone through for our country. When my brother was back from Iraq a WWII vet stopped him saluted him and thanked him for serving, letting my brother know he was behind him 100%. My brother let the old man finish, then told him that the WWII veterans were the ones that taught Americans about pride, love of country and how to fight for what is right. My brother said nothing he would ever see could compare with what that man did for our country. I just stood there in shock while the old man huged my brother and wished him luck while crying.
