Ebay!

I've been selling stuff lately on Ebay with no problems, everything has went smooth. Once again though, a female buyer, has no idea what she's doing. Purchased the item last night, yet I still haven't received payment. I sent her an email about how it'd work along with two invoices requesting the payment from PayPal. I mean I don't know about you guys, I know when I buy something off of Ebay, I pay immediately.

Anyways, how long should I wait before I file non paying buyer?

Itchy trigger finger, no?

Last night and already getting antsy?

Maybe she's waiting for direct deposit (payday) and getting ready to move some money to her Paypal account. Or it was late and she didn't want to deal with that right then and there...

Been on both sides. I start wondering after a week, but I normally get my own payments off within three days, even if I am in a time crunch.

I myself rarely get payments off immediately.

I always pay immediately. As a buyer I can't understand anyone waiting til the last second to bid, or buy it now, and then win only to leave the computer to pay some other day. It's very frustrating as a seller too. Been there once where it took a week. What a pain. I've had buyers take up to a full 24 hours , and that's acceptable for payment IMO.

Exactly, I mean we're not talking about an item that is $1000. It's only $200. Don't use the "Buy it Now" option if you're not willing to do so. Not to mention poor communication is one of the worst things on Ebay. I make sure I'm checking it often and replying ASAP.

Yeah, communication is HUGE, and there are far too amny on eBay that have zero common courtesy.

Alfred; if she is indeed transfering funds, or whatever, she should at LEAST inform the seller, immediately after winning.

I bought a back window out for my truck on Ebay a couple days ago and I still haven't paid yet. Guess I had better get that taken care of today.

I usually give people 3-4 days to pay before I start asking questions.

Exactly. I would have no problem if she would of sent me an email at the time of purchase. Instead I'm wondering if she's going to be a non paying buyer in the mean time. I sent her an email basically saying that once I received payment, I'd ship UPS and email her the tracking information and I'd expect feedback after the the transaction was complete. The response was "I'll leave feedback as soon as the package arrives". I think shes confused as to how Ebay works!

I never have any of my auctions set up to allow international orders. But what do you know, someone else just bought something thats from the UK. Does anyone know how much more it's going to ship to the UK? Can just the regular UPS stores do that?

They bought it without asking you first? Gutsy.

I just go to the Canada Post site (USPS in your case), and they have a section where you can figure out how much shipping is to anywhere in the world. UPS must have something like that as well.

Yes they bought it without even contacting me first. I checked their website and they don't even have any feedback!!

Can you relist the item without being charged?

I think if you have a non paying customer there is something in place by eBay where they'll exempt relisting fee's in that scenario, but I'm not sure.

One day and your giving up? Dayum. Gotta be patient man. Of course I come from "old-school" ebay, logn before paypal ever came along. Back when every single item on the entire ebay site could be listed in about 5-10 pages, maybe 250 items on ebay at any time. You bought an item, yous ent them a check, they would wait for the check to clear and send your goods. Young whippersnappers are too impatient these days .
FYI, if you go to "My Ebay" and find the item they havent yet paid for and choose "Relist", if it sells again ebay will refund the listing fee from the first auction.

Thump, be a little more patient man. I pay as soon as I can but often I'll win an item without even knowing it right away, I proxy bid and when my email tells me I've won then I pay...but...I usually only check my email once a day. Maybe she just doesn't know she's won yet...maybe she works 10 hour days and hasn't gotten to get online yet...maybe she had an emergency today and is out of the house...there are a thousand maybe's, give her 2-3 days before you blow the whistle for non-payment.

The only time I expect rapid payment is when they use Buy It Now .. otherwise, I am ok if I get payment with 5 days ..
