Everyone just calm down, enjoy what you have. It's not about WHAT you ride, just that you ENJOY the ride...
I want a nice bike, and I really don't care who's name is on it.

Should you get one? Absolutely, if that's what you want. I sell motorcycles for a living and the one thing I have always told my customers is "Get what you want, above all else."
I have no issues with Harleys or their riders, I just hate when people get all stupid and call my bike a wanna be when it can do EVERYTHING a Harley can do at a fraction of the cost.
To me, it's all about the RIDE. I could care less if i am riding with a bunch of Harley riders, or Suzuki riders. Once people figure that out, it'll make life that much easier. If you're riding, you're a friend of mine. Doesn't matter if you're on an HD, Buell, BMW, Suzuki, Husqvarna, or whatever. These Harley people need to learn to quit being such idiots about the black and orange. It gets REALLY old REALLY damned fast.
Just for your information, I have been ridin a Harley at work, for several years & have graduated from a two week Motor School that is so physical that most people would fail it or crap their pants taking it! I've owned six bikes to my credit, my fastest being a Hurricane CB1000 & a Yamaha V-MAX 1200! & by the way I will be buying my New 2008 Fat Boy for CASH.....been saving for it a while...............
Lots of choices, lots of opinions on how you should spend your hard earned money.
Look around, sit on them, go to a few "ride with us" rides and see what you like. the new Harleys have come a long way. I like all bikes, I ride a Suzuki now but have ridden and owned almost all of them. The midnight editions are always nice...
Dollar per pound the Jap bikes have the American bikes beat but like I said get what floats your boat-you already have the best truck so anything after that is gravy....

A friend had a V-rod. he had some custom work done to the engine and after all the work the performance still wasn't there. he traded it for a ZX14. now he is satisfied with the power.
I wouldn't mind getting a Victory motorcycle, at least they look nice and are cheaper than a Harley. I really haven't looked into them that far other than looks, until I get enough money to even think about it I guess I am keeping my 'ol 1976 Honda XL-350.

I've had my VROD for a little over a year, and love it more everyday I ride. Its comfortable (after a few mods) and (knock on wood) I've never had an issue with the bike. (other than a dead battery after letting it sit for a month and a half when I tore my MCL and couldn't ride.)
I ride a 2000 Spinger softail. Talk to a HD dealer, here in WA if you rent a few different models for a few weekends, ALL MONEY will go towards your new scoot when you make your purchase.
As long as you ride ( and don't ride like a a$$), your a brother in my book.

I had an 04 VROD
Rode it to Sturgis from Colorado Springs. The crappiest, most uncomfortable piece of Chit.
Sadly, like most HD's, they are a perfect example of the mating of a BS lifestyle, corporate greed, and the american consumer who has to spend $$ to make him/her have self esteem.
p.s. I have owned 2 HD's (06 RK Custom & the VROD) and put lot's o' miles on em to back my response. When you 06 HD leaks after only 2200 miles..sigh..even though I can afford to buy them, I never will again.
p.s.s. I now have a nice little Ninja 250..does just fine..
p.s.s.s. I await the reply's..
