yes, there is only one Harley Davidson....

BUT,for $11000 I got 109 CI,water cooled,fuel injected,shaft driven,240 back tire...from the factory.

there are many bikes out there.I also own a V-Rod and it is a great bike.It is the smoothest running, smoothest shifting(besides a Kawasaki Mean Streak!)bike out there. It has no take off but let the RPMs rise and it goes.I am 6'1" and 235 and the V-Rod is small(to me).The wife wanted a Night Rod Special like the one above badly. When I sold my Ranger,we went to the HD dealership in Omaha, and they had one......$17000.She'll be JUST fine with out that.I got her this one used.

She's changed the rear seat back to a factory seat and put on black turn signals and wants a Night Rod Special exhaust on it,and to lower it.They are nice, but for pure muscle, the Suzuki is the way to go.Shop around, you'll find a good deal on almost anything.

get what you want.

i have an 05 sportster 883, 1200 conversion.

i love it.

if you dont have a spine, and give more of a crap about what people think dont look at the 'chick bike'.

if you have a set, and dont give a damn about people who shoot their mouths off and dont know what they are talking about, check out the sportsters.

its a fun bike, and i think for the price, a real good deal.

buy a leftover, and you will save yourself a nice chunk of cash.

the only thing i have changed for suspension was putting in some progressive front springs, and since, its a great two-up bike. i have never regretted buying this bike, and there is nothing i would want to swap it for.

now is not the time, cause the 08's are coming out, but look for a left over, and i will bet it will be cheaper than you expected.

Yup, it was indeed Bruce RossMeyers Harley Davidson! That place was great! I love the Harley Dealers in Fla., that is where I'll probably end up buying mine. First the Dealerships are HUGE! & they sell them stock MSRP!
Second they have them in stock! Third they are not like the Crooked Dealers up here, that dress them up with their overpriced crap, then add thousands more to the MSRP..................

I could definitely go for one of these (see post #6).

I'm not sure what I would do. However, I do know for a fact that the Night Rod Special is one sweet bike, and I would not regret buying a Harley if that was it. As I mentioned before I did check out the Sportsers a few years back, and just wasn't impressed. They may be better now, but back then, for the money, I would have much rather had the Shadow...

The M109R is ugly, and the Harleys are too expensive. I'll keep my Honda thanks.

Harley's are more $$$, cause you get what you pay for, nothing sounds or feels quite like a Harley no matter how much they try to duplicate it, it is just not a Harley Davidson.............a HondaDavidson, or a SuzukiDavidson,YamaDavidson, KawaDavidson......that is all they will ever be
period....................

Go with the V-rod

I have an 03 Anniv V-rod and love it. If I had it to do over, I'd have waited on the Night-Rod Special you are looking at, that is a nice bike. There is no way I'd go with a M109 (too plastic and bulky for my taste) plus the V-rod is faster. If you want info on the V-rod, here is a forum with all the info you could ever ask for.

I hate the look of those new V-Rods. I'd like to buy a new 50th anny Sportster next spring and start riding with my dad.

Cant argue with this guy...he's right, pay more for a Harley, and pay more for repairs, maintenance, and after market products. Sounds like a good deal to me

My bike doesnt WANT TO BE a Harley, and I dont want to be lumped in with the morons who paid three times as much money for the same god damned thing. You know why I ride? For the love of the ride, not so some poseur in his Village People outfit can tell me "That's not a REAL bike."

Besides all that, in the early 50's there were 2 major manufacturer's of motorcycles in America. You know who they were? Honda and HD.

And, if you can't just enjoy the ride and quit worrying about people think about you because your tank may or may not say "Harley Davidson" on it, you got issues. You know what the 2 happiest days are in a HD owners life?

The day he buys his bike, and the day he sells it.

Seriously dude, get over yourself. No one cares if you have "the real thing." I promise. It doesn't make one damn bit of difference in the adult world.

EDIT:

So wait, you don't even have a bike, but you're calling everyone else who has something other than Harley a wanna be? How does that work?

By the way, the FLSTF carries an MSRP of $17,195.00. Hope you've got $400.00/mo for a bike payment on top of your truck. I could buy 3 Hondas for that price.

anything with two wheels a trottle, clutch and brakes is a "real bike" in my book.

some are just engineered better than others

Wow, didn't mean to fan the fire...

I just wanted opinions on V-Rods from folks who actually own them or have ridden them. If I buy a Night Rod Special and people want to make fun of me for having it, so be it. I don't live to please anyone (except maybe my wife)...

Everyone just calm down, enjoy what you have. It's not about WHAT you ride, just that you ENJOY the ride...

I want a nice bike, and I really don't care who's name is on it.
