who uses limewire?
reinstall.
the downloadingmusicisbad gods are trying to mess with people on limewire. Before back on kazaa lite i remember the trend was adding a song that was popular and getting people to upload it, but it was just a terrible scratching sound to your speakers. The current trend is to list popular songs for download and bring up about 35 ones of the same song and they appear at the top of the list making it look like they have 50-100 sources so it will be a quick download, or thats what you expect, but they never start. I assume these are the music companies trying to catch you downloading, because torrent downloading, another popular pirating way these days, record companies and movie + game companies add items people would want before or right after they come out. Example; sony is coming out with spiderman 4, they release a torrent download of spiderman 4 a week it comes out and list it as a realistic looking file size and make it look like a lot of people are seeding it (uploading it, the more seeders the faster the download rate), but actually when you download the torrent your ip and other info can get sent to the company and you could actually get arrested or let off with a warning. Programs like peerguardian catch this before they get your info/ip and stop it from happening. Thats what i think those files that never start on limewire are trying to do..
Anyways, reinstall limewire, it only takes less than 10 minutes usually, and it will most likely fix whatever issues you have. Ive done it a few times in the past few months, fixed all the issues i was having

yes just redirect your song folder when you reinstall, just to be safe you can copy and paste your songs folder somewhere else then delete the backup after.

i dont trust limewire for anything but music, programs i get from torrents or just on the internet. Limewire is not virus protected, so you could easily be fooled. I remember my sister getting our old family pc a virus just by downloading a picture

I prefer BitLord, i had bittorrent for a while but it was so slow and really didnt tell you much, bitlord tells you every detail about what you are downloading and gets a lot more "seeds".
