The wife and I use both Limewire and Bitlord. Limewire usually for music and Bitlord for movies and apps.

I have come across more virus and trojans with Limewire. Torrents have been better for me.

limewire has a lot of garbage when you search for stuff, but ive found if you go to itunes and find the track number to a song and the album then search (album name) (track #), you get some pretty legit results

Torrents are better for large files (entire discography), but if you just want individual songs, programs like limewire are more efficient. However, I use Frostwire. It is open source, and better than limewire pro. It uses a lot less resourses, and had a better search metric, and no ads. Also, if you use Avast anti-virus (free), it has real time P2P virus protection (it works).

Or you could just buy your music instead of stealing it and not have to worry about bad downloads, viruses, and lawsuits.

okay mr politician, why should we buy all our music? Especially some rare old music that can only be found on records and nowhere else. Some people on this forum, if they bought all their music would have spent more than a few thousand dollars on ****in mp3s, lighten up.

I'm probably one of the few people who probably hasn't downloaded anything I don't have a hard copy of.

I once figured out, for insurance purposes, that I have over $8,000 worth of CD's, tapes, and even vinyl. Downloading individual songs or artists is easier than ripping all the CD's and converting the analog media for the small percentage of my music that I want on my computer. Is it possible that I downloaded a song that I didn't buy, sure, but it would take weeks for me to find one of the very very few.

Why buy your milk or gas or music? Oh I dont know maybe because they arent yours to take?

I just stumbled across an artist that I liked a few days ago, rather than steal it and cut her out of her money I purchased the songs online. My itunes collection is almost 7000 songs and they belong to me from either CDs or purchases.

I was caught up in the whole napster thing years ago until I considered how I was stealing. People do it because they either don't know better or don't care, neither is a good excuse for theft in my opinion.

or not. I'm not worried about anything. I asked who used limewire, not who is against it.

Napster was not legal during the time period I am referring to.

I'm not against Limewire, it is a tool that can be used legitimately or illegally. The users determine how the tool is used. Limewire in and of itself is not illegal.

You guys can do whatever you like. I just find it interesting the lengths to which people will go to save a few bucks when doing it the safe legal way is an option.

I wonder how many limewire users have reformatted their machines due to malware or paid people like me to do it to save money on songs.

hmm well I Just prefer to put all the songs I like on 1 cd so that I dont have 2 good songs and 20 that I dont like... I dont sell the cd's, for my personal use only. but im not going to argue about legal or illegal.
