vader,

you didnt go south enough.

get on the outer banks, then go south some more.

you can still find some nice quiet areas of beach there, and for the most part you escape all the tourist-trap crap.

my kid is 9, and we have been going down since before he was born. he starts counting the months till we go down again as soon as we get home.

i could never see myself giving up that yearly trip.

I like the beach but I hate crowds. The beaches we usually go to are pretty barren of people which is how I prefer it!!

Hang in there Vader. How long do you have to stay?

I love the beach and the salt water, of course I live about 3mins away from the beach. I do love the mountains but the beach is where I rather be.

One helicopter ride over Miami beach; and, I don't care much for ever getting in the water again.

These pics don't tell the full story. I saw sharks swimming amongst the people in the water. Since, I've learned that, if you spend very much time at the beach at all, a shark has likely been within 5 feet of you without your even knowing it. I build sand castles and work on my tan if I find myself at the beach.

I have no in-room safe so all valuables are buried under used underwear to protect them. No thefts so far.
I would recommend the Brief Safe but sounds like you made do already with what you had. You might want to consider using the Doo Drops though.
