Mess with the cops!!

Not sure if this is entirely true but I have heard that if you are coming up to a cop that has his lights on and you shift into N right before you pass him and back into drive as you pass him the lights will turn off. I am nervous about trying it as I don't want to damage my truck by shifting into D while im moving. Has anyone else heard of this or done it?

Not quite sure if I understand this... let me disect this...

- Not sure if this is entirely true
- I'm not entirely sure IF it's true either...

- but I have heard that if you are coming up to a cop that has his lights on
- Ok...... do you mean his headlights?! OR his flashing lights? And does this mean he is after you or someone else?

- shift into N right before you pass him and back into drive
- Well... you are sort of disconnecting the engine to the wheels... so you will not be able to accelerate... only other thing I could think of is possibly you might slow down quicker because there is no torque being applied to the wheels.

- as you pass him the lights will turn off.
- The lights?! As in his lights? His flashing lights? Your lights?! My lights?! I don't get it...

- I am nervous about trying it as I don't want to damage my truck by shifting into D while im moving.
- It will not hurt your truck. It's already been discussed. Check this thread out: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=295668

- Has anyone else heard of this or done it?
- Ummmmm... no but it sounds like fun if it will turn off my lights to say my kitchen while I'm out on the road.

try the garage door opener, some times the radio frequency is the right one and his trunk opens.

Reminds me of what I read on Snopes about using a garage door opener to change or speed up traffic lights...

Dang... I was watching a movie 2 weeks back about this guy who found a remote control that could FF his life... and everytime he pressed it, he was getting either in the right place at the right time... or in the wrong place at the wrong time... it was quite interesting, but funny too. Swear, I can't think of that movie off the top of my head...
