10 year Army vet, Desert Storm Vet; wish I'd stayed in (Would be retiring in 23 days if I had).
I thought the UGH poster was funny.
But yes, that uniform does look more like the Marine Uniform, than the Army. They look similiar, but there are differences (especially in the BDU uniform, which is now being replaced- in the Army anyway).
As for the Army, you don't wear a patch on the right shoulder, unless you've been in combat or a warzone. That's why they call them "combat patches".
If you haven't been, then there's only one patch, 1 inch below the seam, centered on the sleeve. Even if you are deployed, you don't get permission to wear the patch, until you redeploy (home).

I am not assuming your a liberal. Your own statements point that way. You put yourself out there for every one to see... and some disagree with you. So what? Your the one who put yourself out there... expect some critisism... Just like not every one thinks like I do. I don't get all pissy (like a liberal does) when your thoughts are questioned.

30 years ago today, I went on my last 0600 PT run.
Then I went to CIF and turned in my TA-50 for my ETS. Single guys only got two days to Clear.
On Aug 4th, 1977 I carried a case of beer to the back door of the Seperation Transfer Point, gave it to a guy I knew who worked in Finance.
At 0800 I went in the front door with 150 other troops, and my name was called.
A lot of good it did, I ended up sitting in the back room drinking until 1100 anyway.

I'm in the Canadian military and my user name says it for me. I have done several American specialized courses on various bases in the States.
I have 28 yrs in so far and will try to push the envelope to retirement.

They see 'paratrooper' and think 'big deal' but, I know, I know.
You see boys and girls, the Canadian military doesn't have any airplanes.
28 years as a paratrooper. Now, that's a level of commitment you just don't see in the States!
6 Years Army, then I decided to get out of the military, and join the Air Force.
By the way, Hersh, everyone in the Army now wears the US Flag on the right shoulder, regardless of combat patch or not. They started that right before they went to ACU's. Here in the desert, they have the IR reflective subdued velcro ones. The contrast on the pattern leads me to believe that it is USMC as well.

Well Raoul, I jumped out of a lot of of phantom planes then....
We have received our new Globemasters recently, I've never jumped out of one of them yet but they must be similar to the Starlifters...
1000 jumps and everything is working good, knees, back, etc.
