You have a freakin' newborn and still find the time to get your panties in a bunch over some non-issues? Seek help.

Plant shrubs along your property line.

You can't control the street. Already requested his not do it? Great. Done. Otherwise, roofing nails.

I wash the vehicles, mow the lawn, etc... and take as long as I can while carefully making sure that my new neighbors are catching me staring at their house and shaking my head while carrying my Glock in my thigh holster in plain view. Once they think I'm insane, they pretty much leave me alone.

When I moved into this house, the neighbors all told me how I needed to take care of my trees. So.... I cut them all down, except for the prize blue spruce. I told them if they want to complain some more, it would go too. They've never complained again.

I'm telling you, if they think you're on edge, they'll steer clear of troubling you.
Thanks for the laugh. I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time.

Why not take a dark green spray paint and paint the line for your yard. It shouldn't be that hard for the guy to not mow over that line unless he is a total moron. And in that case he probably should be told that if he steps over that line, you will call the cops.

Anything to define your property and differentiate it from his is what he needs. Surely he doesn't TRY to **** you off.

I am having a hard time coming up with anything for the parking issue that is not completely childish or that doesn't involve completely screwing up the guys car.

Having it towed would be nice.

Since hes already been warned the next time he steps onto your property a 12ga loaded with rock salt will get him the hell off fast and for good

I say go with the fence idea, as for the car problem get creative.

Whenever my neighbor used to have people over they always parked at the very end of his driveway, even though there is another 50 feet they could use. I hate this because if Im backing out I cant see whats on the sidewalk till Im already on it or if Im pulling in I have to take the turn alot wider.

Solved that one when I started parking my truck right at the end of mine and as tight to his as I could. This way if they parked at the end they cant open their door without hitting my mirror

Does your subdivision have deed restrictions against parking in the street? If so, ask your home owners association to step in, since you have already tried in person a few times ..

as for the grass issue .. a fence is going to end up being your answer, or a small flower bed or shrub bed right along the property line.

x2 on the shrubs, you can pick something that'll look nice and define the property line. Or PSS's metal spikes, I like that idea too!!

I've got a similar problem.. Have any of y'all ever heard of "zero lot-line" zoning? It's what we have in my neighborhood. Basically means that there's no set-back between the properties, i.e. my property goes all the way to the wall of my neighbor's house. Yes, these are not very large lots.

Anyway, about 3 years ago the guy who lived next door put his house up for sale. I step out one morning and a survey crew is outside and has driven stakes about 4 feet over into my yard, front and back. I talked to the head surveyor and explained to him about the zero lot-line thing and he said "Oh, okay gotcha..".. so I pulled up the stakes and went to work.. get home and the stakes are back. Seems the fact that the backyard fences butt up against the house next door would tip 'em off, but no.

So the house gets sold to a family straight outta Honduras. Not a word of english among the lot of 'em. This neighborhood is by no means upscale, but not so bad either. I can speak enough spanish to say "Howdy neighbor..", but that's about it.

So they start up with mowing about 4 feet of my front yard.. Okay, not so bad, I just finish the rest of it. Then summer came. Maybe central air conditioning was not something they understood.. or wanted.. whatever the reason, this family, mom, dad, 3 sons, 1 daughter and one grampa would gather outside in the yard, driveway, my yard.. when it was a 100 degrees and... squat.

Squat and drink water out of gallon jugs.

This was a nice, courteous family, nice people.. but man, they squatted all day out in the yard.

They were also very much all about doing brake jobs on their vehicles and I mean every weekend. Every weekend. So then the spare parts started ending up in my front yard. I didn't have the spanish to explain to them about the property lines so I went to my neighbor on the other side, a very sweet lady who speaks spanish and asked her if she could go to them and explain. She and I went next door and she had a long conversation with them.. She finally turned to me and said, "They just don't understand the concept of zero lot-line.. can't understand it at all.. even in Honduras they have set-backs.."

After that I just started picking up anything they left in the yard, my front lawn, and placing it on their driveway.

They moved out, sold the house.. the next family didn't mess with my yard.. then about a month ago they put the house up for rent.. Someone moved in at the 1st of the month and yesterday he mowed about 4 feet of my yard...

I'll have to go speak to the man, maybe he'll take $10 just to finish the whole front lawn.. hey, it's not that big and as long as he's at it...

For the parking problem as you do live on a cul-de-sac, see if you can get the local govt to make it no street parking, for things like emergency vehicles. As everyone seems to have driveways, that may not be a problem. You might also check with the local police to see if there is an ordinance about parking.
Yep, that's where I would start.

Squat like VietCong.. just sitting there squatting like a catcher.. for hours on end.. Honestly, I don't know if they didn't know that the house was air-conditioned, didn't know how to turn it on, or what. I have to say that I never heard the a/c unit running in their back yard.

I can't imagine how unbearably hot that house must have been at night with no a/c..
