Don't be "Ignorant"
I had a joke backfire on me once.
I was working with a bunch of college kids.
I didn't realize how much our supervisor lacked in formal education.
I mentioned that a customer had called me the 'E' word.
Paused while they tried to think of what the terrible 'E' word might be,
then said, "That's right, he called me egnorant."
The laughter was just starting to come out when it was interrupted by our supervisor,
"Which one? Which customer was it?" looking out over the floor.
There was an awkward silence, then I mumbled something about I guess I missunderstood the customer.
I was glad those kids didn't embarrass the guy.
Don't know if they were really mature or just really needed their job.

I'll explain the context in a bit....just curious if it is a Maryland thing or not.
