If You're Reading This - Is Turning Into a Huge Hit!

So apparently Tim McGraw sang this song "If you're reading this" at the
2007 ACM awards this year, which I believe was back in May.

Well the song was originally written in 2005 and didn't really get that big.

Well Tim sang it at the 2007 ACMs in May and it got a great reaction from
the crowd but nobody really made a big "to do" about it.

Well it's a completely different story now.

K102 and other local country stations are playing it several times a day,
people are calling and requesting it, and XM is playing it a lot too.

Apparently it's really become a hit. Funny thing is though, the recording
they are all playing is from the awards, so it's a live cut as Tim never
recorded the song.

Here is the youtube video and sound of him singing the song. It's a really
pretty song and sounds great.

I really hope he releases this as a single soon.

I've never been a Tim McGraw fan. I think he is typical of today's cookie cutter country.

However, he did a great job there. It reminds me of Alan Jackson's "Where were you" performance just after 9/11.

Nicely done.

That's the exact same thing I thought too. It reminds me of Alan with his 9/11 statement. However, I have come to expect that from Alan as he never was afraid to be different. My second favorite Alan Jackson moment was on the music awards a couple years back (I think 5 or so) when George Jones had that hit "Choices" and the ACMs refused to let George sing the entire song. So Alan went on to play his entire song, stopped part way through and started playing choices for a couple chords. Then put down his guitar and walked off stage, still leaving several minutes open for the producer to be forced to fill.

That gave me one of those proud/happy moments that I got here.

Side Note: Tim's last CD was a step in the right direction for him and definitely sounded less "cookie cutter" and more bold.

I'm confused. All this Buzz happened immediately after the ACMs. Why are you just mentioning it now? Maybe you live out in the sticks and dont get news in a timely fashion.

I guess I don't get news in a timely fashion. I'm just mentioning it now because I missed the ACMs and never read about this or heard it.

Then over the weekend our local radio station played the song for the first time. (I live in Minneapolis, so it's not like we're in the sticks.)

Then they got a bunch of calls and it's been playing every 15 songs since. Not to mention I never heard it on XM channel 16 since May. Now I've heard it once a day.

It was new to me and I can't believe I missed it back in May though.

That was amazing. He had me as a lifetime fan the minute he did that. I hated Alan's last CD but I still bought it.

Yeah it was "blues" themed to me and I wasn't a huge fan of it. However, I did really like "Red on a Rose".

Cool. I didn't even realize it was a live recording or what the song was called. I've always been a fan, and like just about everything he's done, however, I don't care for the Tim/Faith duets, and I really hate the new one, sorry... She's a big time hottie, but I Need You would be so much better without her... Plus, I think their from Arkansas, since they both sing about "their" uncle Joe... and I especially hate the ending where they just repeat, "I need you" till they run out of breath...

Toby Keith's "Love Me if You Can" is another good one.
