It's still a work in progress. Two or three more full days of work and she'll be on the road and then the paint prep can begin. Here's a pic of her since my last weekend wrenchfest...

The pic jamz posted is a chop of the final product. She's sitting on coil springs all around right now but after the paint I'm going to install airbags and lay frame.

I started on it last summer. I picked up the truck body and frame in Memphis and hauled it home. I stripped the body off the panther frame and got the cab and bed mounted. This spring I've got the brakes, throttle, steering, and most of the wiring done. I just have to mount the A/C-heater box and get the fuel lines re-run.

I'd still like to know more about putting the body on the Lincoln (is that right?) frame...

I'm still thinking about buying back my '75 Ranger, and using the Lincoln drivetrain I have...

Yeah, crown vic/merc grand marquis/lincoln towncar are all on the same frame, as long as the wheelbase is close (mine was 1/2 from being the same as the truck. It should work. Most of the fab work is in the steering, brake, throttle hook up but someone with intermediate skills with a welder and a cut off tool should have no problem. You do have to make a crossmember to bolt the rear of the cab to the frame and a couple of risers for the front of the bed but thats pretty simple too. If you need any other info, just let me know, I am so ready to get her on the road!

If that's your goal with that truck...you're heading in the right direction.

I posted a picture of a cool truck of mine on another site.

I got lots of kudo's until somebody pointed out a giant thumbprint that covered the entire door panel.

I was so embarrassed when I got busted, I never went back.

I was thinking about giving it a wash/wax and posting it here.

LMFAO!

Raoul,

You just made my week bud! I have to tell you, I've had the most stressful and depressing week at work. One quick trip to a thread you posted and I actually smiled and laughed.

Thanks again!

Duke

Hey Smoky...You sound familiar. You didn't happen to take an Electronics class at SECC did you?

I know exactly what you mean. Raoul is by far the most entertaining individual on this forum. I could follow him around all day reading his posts...I never knew a retired midget wrestler could be entertaining out of the ring as well.
