I guess I'm not real concerned with his choice of sound system...still want to be sure his TV will support Blu-Ray in all its glory...many people are spending the money for a TV and HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player only to have neither of them supporting the other...if that makes sense..

Well, I think it comes down to this one right here:

Onkyo HT-S790

I haven't made the purchase yet, because I'm still looking and researching, but that's the one that has my attention. I've researched a few others, but keep coming back to this one. It has some pretty good reviews, and it came highly recommended by a couple folks.....you know who you are.

Thanks.

Just want to be sure you have the right gear for what you think you will be seeing..

Dont forget atleast $50-$75 for cables.

It should come with some cheapos that will conduct some of the signal but not all and they will aslo conduct pink noise and static too.

I didn't use to belive in cables until I decided to upgrade my cables in december and WOW. I will never use the cheap cables again.

309 + 61 = $370.

It's Factory Reconditioned though. However, that route, and this website, is where I went and I'm pleased with my purchase.

Nice choice Jamz.

Is that an upscaling DVD player? Looks like a fancy schmancy one, so I'm guessing it is.

Nice choice on the black colour as well, I think you will be very pleased with it. I didnt use the included cables because they are super thin, but you wont spend a lot upgrading them.

If you want, PM me your email, and I'll send you some very cool install pics.

Sweet!!!!

Matt = happy 4 jamz

Fed ex will be visiting my house tomarrow too. Main satelite reciver went out "again" last night. This will make the third reciver for the living room since December. I'm wonder if its getting to hot with all the other equipment. So also will be installing an exhuast fan in the cabinet too.

Just took measurement with IR thermometer. Top of cabinet is 84.3ºF (29.8ºC) Thats the very top inside, lower is around 78º-80º so shouldn't be to hot for it. IDK probably just junk. The other 3 in the bedrooms have been fine, but the one in the living room is on 24/7.

Well.

My mother-in-law had a VERY simple task today. She only had 1 (one) thing to do.....sit in the living room, watch Jerry Springer, and wait for FedEx.

Nope, the dumbass decides to go to lunch....they stopped by while she was out.

I have to wait another day.
