I don't think any of the distance (300 miles to the most northern drop) was roadbed material. It is either perma frost or lakes, some being fairly deep. Not only does the money factor in, but it would take so many years to actually build the road, the mine will be empty by then. Remember, it has to be above freezing to pour and cure concrete, so that right there knocks out the building time to maybe a day or two a year.....

Their best bet would be to build a military style bridge that sits on top of the perma frost or water and is wide enough to disperse the loads. Would still be a huge cost and time nightmare.

Considering it is a private road that has traffic control similar to an airport.... I would think this would be a great opportunity to utilize GPS/Remote controlled vehicles.

Well, if it's that tough, then maybe they should buy 2 or 3 old C-5 Galaxies, and 4 - 5 heavy lift Helicopters, and call it a day. Those bad boys will cover 300 miles in about 40 minutes.
