I consider it extortion. If a cop observes me speeding, making an illegal lane change etc then I'll take the ticket. Fawk a bunch of cameras snapping pics in order to raise revenue for a locality. VA Beach got in trouble for these cameras a few years ago. These cameras ought to be treated like the Gatso's in England/GB.

Right?
Mythbusters did a show on busting radar and they could not beat the laser.

They simply conceal the numbers when the picture is taken.

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him,
"Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on 280. Please be careful!"
"Well," said Herman, "It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!"

My uncle was going home from the bar one night, got pulled over on the interstate and the officer walked up and asked him where he was going.
He replied, "I don't know but I must have missed cause everyone else is going that way." He was going the wrong way down the interstate.
True story too.

What if?
I have always paid my speeding tickets without arguement. ( haven't had one in 15 years ), but there are occasions where someone else may drive my vehicle. Let's play devils' advocate for a minute; I take my rig to the dealer or valet parking or wherever, and some cowboy blows a red with my rig while doing a road test. The city ( drool running out of their desperate mouth ) sends me a bill? I have no recourse? Jezus Christopher, I like accountability. The lack of it in this country is off the charts, and now uncle sugar wants me to be accountable for someone elses actions? Phuc the photo radar. Get out of the coffee shop and write tickets the old fashioned way.
