Ohh btw if it's blury image from photgrapher, most can be fixed with slight smart blur filter than unsharp mask for generic quick work or web viewing. If it's a photo to be printed then expect to spend 30 mins + (depending on the amount of detail you have to create) with the air brush tool.

If you talking about the sig with the text, that look like compressed pixels to me what I glanced at it. First make sure you are at 72 DPI beofre saving for web. Also try saving as a .PNG. then if that dont work, you have 2 options one is guranteed the other is hit or miss.
Either try a different font, or the hit and miss try making a new image at 50dpi, and dragging that layer to the new one, then deleting the layer on the orginal sig, then drag the layer back to the orginal. I now it sounds silly to go 72>50>72 but it will not be compressing so many pixels into a small area. the image will still be 72 dpi and so will the text.

Becarefull using sharpen filter or the unsharp mask, you will over sharpen and pixelate text in a hurry when it's that small pixelate looks sorta blurry but I dont think thats whats hapening I think it is pixel compression.
what is dpi and how do i do that? i dont know that much yet lol

I didnt know the Shift trick when resizing a pic, ill have to try that sometime.

But anyways, my Tip for you is when you are Erasing and cleaning up a layer (Like around the tires) Id recommend going 300-400x zoom and then your erasing can be alot more precise, with less precise hand (mouse) movement

DPI= Dots Per Inch (i believe)

Sorry for teh slow replies, I'm daritng in and out working outside, coming in to the computer for breaks. Anyway..........

Opps my mistake....
In Photoshop it's PPI (pixels per inch). DPI is actually the same thing only Dot is an ink splatter on a piece of paper of the same size.

When you go File>New
a box opens in the Image Size category you have 3 options width / heigth / and resolution. In resolution that tells you the PPI or PCI (pixels per centimeter) I actually have no idea who uses centimeter, must be a europe thing or something.
So choose, pixels/inch and before that type 72. that gives you 72 PPI or DPI.

If you have an existing image, then go to Image>Image Size ther is a resolution box there so you can change later on teh entire project if you need too.

If you using the "Save For Web Option" which you should be for sigs or anything for monitor viewing only. Then it automatically converts the entire document to 72 PPI.

I'm still learning PSP myself. I tried a few of PhotoShop apps, but they just weren't for me. I'm more comfortable with Paint Shop Pro (JASC).

[EDIT] BTW, I have a crappy monitor, so could someone with a good monitor tell me what my current sig looks like (clearity)

i use imagestation though and your sig looks fine but the writing on the bottom right corner i cant read and im using a 22 inch hd monitor also, when i photoshop i use a 19 inch hd monitor, i did notice though that the sigs are larger in photoshop then they are when i put them on imagestation. image station compresses the images down to size also, but i dont know how to adjust it or even if its possible

Thats probably how your viewing the work area.

With the project open in Photoshop, click on view and go to "Actual Pixels" or hit ctrl+alt+0 on the keyboard.

To enlarge it some and still see it all, click on "Fit to Screen" or just Ctrl+0

Trust me...they will be.

The more you play with the tools and what each tool does, and research what each tool can do, the quicker you'll be able to pick things up on. Try starting a new project (size doesn't matter) and work with one tool at a time. Just to get the "feel" of what that tool can do.

There is some talent on this site, but they wont admit it, so don't be affraid to ask any questions.

[EDIT] The text in the bottom right hand corner of my sig says, "do you see the numbers?" .. meaning the 500X100. I made that text small on purpose. It's like a marketing tool ( ) makes people "wonder".

You can adjust how much it slelects by adjusting the tolerance of the wand at the top when you have the wand selected. It has to be a pretty high contrast between said car and back ground. If it's a high contrast then I might use the magnetic lasso tool and then clean itr up in quick mask mode.
You can ussually tell when someone has used the wand it ussually looks like crap.

The wand has it's place and might work for a vehicle placed against a solid background and definatly works with chroma-key back drops. Anything else shot outside of a studio has shadows and those are enough to confuse the wand.
My experince 80% of the time the Poloygonal lasso tool combined with Quick Mask mode are the best and with some practice will also become the fastest for you too. Most vehicles I can have completely cut out in less than 2 mins, 5 mins tops on a really really hard one.
