Dale Jr. to leave DEI ??
RCR is really his only choice, if he wants to stay with Chevrolet. Hendrick is out, as no one is going to get bumped (this means Mears, guys. He's young, and not going anywhere). Joe Gibbs is out, as their organization doesn't solicit sponsors that have to do with alcohol. Yes, Bud would bring a lot of money, but Joe Gibbs is a man of integrity, so I don't see him changing his views for anyone, even Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
So that leaves Richard Childress. I'd be willing to bet that the moment the press conference was over, Childress made some kind of contact with Jr., or vice versa. Notwithstanding the #3 that's available (and Jr. wouldn't drive with it off the bat, even he has stated he's not ready for it), Childress would provide the best opportunity, besides Hendrick (which is out for reasons outlined above). It wasn't that long ago that RCR and DEI were bedfellows, collaborating on engines/chassis design, and in the process winning a lot of super speedway races, and had made huge strides at 1.5 mile tracks. With the passing of Sr., that relationship started to go downhill, faster than expected.
Cliffs: Hendrick, out due to no one getting bumped; Joe Gibbs, out due to the beliefs/views of the owner; Richard Childress, in, due to past relationship/future potential.

I am a JGR fan & didn't know that about the alcohol. My question is: if he doesn't solicit alcohol - why does he carry the Bud Pole sticker on his cars?

It will be RCR or Hendrick for the simple fact that those are the two best suited to help out JR with their other series cars.
And Junior is correct .. Chevy is an icon in Nascar .. Ford isn't. sucks ..but it is true.

I was simply saying that those that say Hendrick is out of it because he already has four drivers are wrong. If Junior wants to drive at Hendrick.. there will be a spot made for him. That deal has already been worked out.
