im almost 17 and about to be a senior in high school. i pay maybe $50 every 2 weeks and get an average of 16.5mpg mixed. unless gas here hits 3.70 or above , i wont even consider letting go because i have so many plans for this truck. but gas here is 2.81 and your situation may be different. as for the price, i would say 5k-7k is what you might get. but if you do get a smaller car, remember that ricers are bad but tuners are alright. but get a v6 if you can, they sound much better when you put an exhaust on em. some v6s now are getting 30+ mpg.

I just got last months gas bill saturday...... lets just say that it is $100 more than my house payment, my truck payment and wifes car payment combined!

Granted I drive 100-400 miles per day for work in my truck and I am reimbursed for my potion of the gas bill. But still!!!!!!

So am I going to dirve less????

NO!!!

Am I going to get rid of the truck????

No!!!!

Am I going to get something cheaper.... you bet.

Am I still going to gripe about the price of gas????

You bet!!!

Am I going to do anything about it???

Nope.....

Dude... I bought my F-150 when I was 16. I was going through $50 - $70 a week in gas. When I was 18, I bought a boat. Gas prices went up, and I was then blowing $100 - $150 a week on gas for the truck and the boat. Work more, spend your money, and enjoy it. Last summer was one of the best summers of my life. Boating 2 - 3 days a week, and working at night. You're 17 damnit... these are the best years of our lives... And I'm 19. This summer should be even more fun for me...

do what i did.

park the truck and ride a motorcycle.

You don't have to get a new one. just get a nice reliable one. you should get 40mpg. my bike fill ups only cost me $10 and now i only fill up the truck every other week instead of weekly.

Its up to you but i would not get a deville they are nice but aint worth it in my opinion

Around where i live it wouldn't get stolen. thats what insurance is for anyways. And thats part of the reason i want one is for the trunk for a system. I know gas isn't much better but i just want something different then my truck. i was even thinking about getting a deisel but im still not sure.

Dude, today's modern subwoofers are designed for small, tight enclosures. Well, at least the high quality subs are. What in the hell do you plan on putting in a trunk that a family of 4 could live in?

And Cadillac a sign of money?!! Owww, my ribs!! *wipes tear*

That's a good idea!
Hopefully all the fatties from this site will follow that advice (you know who you are, no need to mention names)

Sadly, the opposite is true for me. I got a motorcycle AND more fuel-efficient vehicle saving me several hundred dollars each month in gas. What's a piggy to do with all that extra money? Supersize it baby!!!

So lets see...you're selling your truck because you can't afford it so you're going to buy a caddy to make you look rich? dork

You'd get much better sound out of a sub in a truck cab than you would in a car trunk... Keep your F-150. Put some subs in it. Everybody said it'd be damn near impossible to put two 12"s in my F-150 and keep the rear seat, but I still did it. It sounded friggin sweet too.

Yeah i know todays subs are desgned for smaller enclosures. But for a good 15" ported to 32hz made out of 1 inch mdf its going to be a big box. recommended size for the sub im getting is over 4 cubic feet of space on the interior of the box, thats after the size of the sub displacement. and i did have two 10" subs in my truck. they sounded decent but dont compare to a good 15" thats capable of hitting 160db and sounding better. so i do know what im talking about. and yeah you could put that in an f150 but youd have no back seat and no space which would make it just a pain and pointless of having an extended cab. and if cadillac isnt a sign of money then what is it? think about it, who drives cadillac's bmw's lincoln's mercedes? and im not talking about the old square looking ugly 80's or early 90's ones that poor people drive. people with money drive those brands, i got money i just dont feel like wasting it on gas, id rather have something to show for it. i guess i shouldnt have said im selling it because gas is to much, but its becasue theres better things to spend it on.

Hi! my opinion is get a Honda o Toyota, they are easy on gas and maintenance. Regarding the Cadillac MPG, it's not to vaild for many reasons:

1st, is silly but a lot of people don't measure or compute correctly the MPG.

2nd. Driving style can give a lot of diference between your friend's MPG and yours.

3rd. Kind of gas he use vs you use.

4th. Topographical conditions and freway city driving for both of you.

5th. other variables.

My $0.02

As an audio lover I gotta say that's the funniest thing I've read in awhile. A good 15" and 160db. Don't sugar coat it... you don't give a rats **** about sound quality, you just want big boom that everyone can here. And while it may hit 160db a few inches from the driver, the threshold of ear pain is around 130 to 140 decibels, roughly equivalent to a jet engine at a range in the tens of meters. Eardrum rupture occurs around 160 decibels (conventional sound) to 185 decibels (nonperiodic blast pressure). But I'm sure you car will sound great.

No you don't. If you had money you'd be rolling in a new bimmer or benz. Period. Not a freaking 10 year old bimmer or 8 year old caddy.
