Why is everyone trading in the F150's???

Hmmm...not here. Diesel is about .25 to .30 a gallon cheaper than regular.

Diesel is also cheaper out here in San Diego. I am looking at the new F350 Lariat 4x4. But damn its an expensive truck. I just cant stand towing with my truck anymore. I tow a little 18ft toybox and my truck is a dog everywhere.

the 94 F-150 was my DD that got 10-12 mpg. I filled it up 3-4 times per month which cost about $300 in gas. I fill the Mustang up about 2 times per month, sometimes 3...roughly $100. It only has a 15 gallon tank vs. 94 F-150 that had a 30+ gallon tank. in the end, I'm breaking even with the + in payment and insurance vs. the - in gas useage. But man am I happy with the performance.

I can see where someone who only has 1 vehicle could totally benefit from this.
Well I would be one of those who would just have one vehicle. I went from a Mustang in November of 99 to a F150 then bought my 2nd F150 in 05 almost went back to a Mustang back then it was a toss up on gas and insurance but now with these very high gas prices the Mustang would have been my better choice back then. For now I'm stuck with a truck that gets poor gas mileage in high gas price times but if gas prices go back down to around 2 bucks a gallon or less I'l be happy enough to stay with this truck.

We are being jerked around by the fuel producers in this country. Diesel was higher than unleaded regular for most of the last 12 months. That changed recently when the producers began to assess the "summer time" surcharge that we always pay.

I read that the interstate traffic volumes have traditionally picked up between Memorial Day and Labor Day as Americans hit the road for vacations. Not any more. The travel season is now April to November. There are so many boomers out there that summer vacation "road travel" has evolved into a broader event time-wise.

It is no coincidence that we got hit with the higher unleaded prices in March-April. Diesel has gone up too... but not as rapidly as unleaded. The price differential "flip-flopped" here aout a month ago. Again, I submit that this is no coincidence and that it clearly points out the string that big oil has us dancing on the end of.

In my State the AG has determiend that there is enough dirt on big oil to open and investigation. Too bad GW is "sleeping with the enemy." Other wise we might a nation-wide investigation going. But big oil has another 2 years before that has any chance of happening.

I just picked up my 04 screw 5.4l in March. I got rid of a 97 Chrysler Sebring. The sebring got about 15 mpg in town and 24 mpg on the freeway. My truck gets about 13 in town and 19-20 freeway. I just made a trip from San Diego to Fresno and back and averaged 19.5 mpg at 70-75 mph. My city mileage sucks but the part of town I'm in the speed limit is 25 to 35 mph and there is a stop sign or signal on almost every corner. Sure I lost a few mpg, but I have a much more useful vehicle.

My best friend has a Chrysler T & C mini van. He gets 13 city and maybe 22 on the freeway. He thought I should get a small truck like the Ranger. Well the big V6 gets about 21 freeway. Not much incentive there.

As far as I can tell I am spending about the same amount every week on gas as I was with the car. I'll keep my truck rather than buy something that will fit in the bed.

Why create a monthly payment and still have to buy gas at $3.00+ per gallon. At this point I am still money ahead with a bad azz truck. I would start thinking about it if fuel prices go above $4.50 per gallon.

Better alert the brain it's going to have to start thinking by mid-summer.

I hate to admit when or if I make a mistake, which I didn't with this truck it's been better than I expected going in. But now I find myself needing something bigger.

Wonder why... I sold my F-150 cause I was tired of not having 4x4, and I really wanted a diesel. And diesel is currently $.40 - $.70 cheaper than 87 regular... and my F-150 had a craving for 93 octane with the tunes that were on it...

I wish I could get a diesel, I just can't afford anything right now...But I will have one, I don't really need it, but I like diesels, I like the power that they are capable of, and I do some serious four wheeling every chance I get...

Her's my .02. You bought a truck, your an idiot if you think your going to get good gas milage. Who cares if it' chev, dodge or ford they all get crap milage.You want 30mpg buy a car. I love my f150 and wouldn't trade it for anything. Exept maybe another f150

For me, I'm glad everyone is trading in their F150's. Maybe truck prices will come down following decreased demand. After all the dust settles, we'll be back to where we were 10 or so years ago when truck owners actually used their trucks. Instead of trendy, yuppies and soccer moms scarfing up trucks because its the cool thing to do.

Whatever – TRADE IN YOUR TRUCKS! We few, hardcores will still be here becasue we've always been here. (Can I get an Amen!?)

I just bought my truck in Feb. I love it but haven't driven it in 2 weeks . I have a real use for it plus it's my fun vehicle.

let everyone trade them in so the demand for gasoline goes down a bit and let the prices come down to help my pocket out.

when gas gets close to $4 per gallon here, thats when i get the harley i want. this truck is not leaving me. im the person who could live in a single wide and have a 5k sqft garage and be the happiest man in the world. (gotta fill that garage too though!)
