I was on a winding two lane, big ditches on both sides.
On the left a small church was having a wedding and some cars were parked half on the road with wedding guest milling about.

A 1/4 mile later a 18 wheeler was booking toward me.
I saw disaster in the near future and flashed like a mad man, maybe a half dozen times.

Don't know what happened back there.

I used to do this. Everytime I saw a cop I would flash my lights at the oncoming traffic until one day I did this and got an (inproper use of highbeams) ticket from a cop. I passed by one sitting on the side of the road and then 900ft up there was another one sitting. Cost me $100. Now I just say screw em, you shouldn't have to worry if your not speeding...

So much for trying to help out a fellow motorist..

When cops set up gay speeding traps in areas where the speed limit drops say from 45 to 35 going downhill or somethin like that then I try to warn other drivers.

So you were flashing your passing lights or high beams?????

Hmmm, lesson to be learned here kids, as I said earlier in this thread, here is the exact post....

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=18

Lights are used during driving for communicating with other drivers, common rules of teh road to follow, flashing your high beams does not mean slow down, means for oncoming traffic to dim thier lights, or for the people in front of you to pull over and let you by.

In either case you were not following the rules of the road.

I flash at oncoming vehicles that are speeding any chance I can. Even if I don't see a marked unit in the area. If they slow down, good. If not, oh well.

A man is driving up a steep, narrow mountain road.
A woman is driving down the same road in the opposite direction.
As they pass each other the woman leans out the window and yells, "PIG!!".
The man immediately leans out his window and replies, "JERK!!".
They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner, he crashes into a pig in the middle of the road.

Someone flashed thier lights at me about 5 times this morning. I wasn't speeding because... I really wasn't in a rush to get to work... but instinctively slowed down away. So I'm like "What the heck was that...Oh. Gotcha." Rounded a corner to find a dead deer smack in the middle of my lane.

Cheers to you buddy.

There is hope in this world; Someone flashed their lights to warn me of police while I was driving back from lunch today.

That's what a good radar detector is for. Just wait until you flash an unmarked cop and end up with a nice 150-300$ ticket. Enjoy.
