This is why I love to find a place where you get that, "man where were you" reaction while writing them a ticket.

Ok lets define "flashing your lights"......

I shut mine off and turn them on again twice to warn others.
Or if day time I turn them on and off and on again then off. (2 flashes)

That is the universal warning flash.

1 flash is used to let people know the lane is clear next to them for them to come over in front of you. I appreciate this even in pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Flashing high beams or passing lights either one is a WAKE UP call.
Sometimes I have had people flash thier passing lights at me to warn me....
Thats telling me to dim my lights, If my lights are on then I check to make sure that I am on dim. Then shortly I come across a speed trap or wreck or something, sometimes I figure it out before, sometimes I don't have time and I'm still going WTF was he doing?

I will give a warning, but only to trucks of any kind. The cars are on their own.

No, I don't warn others of a speed trap. I personally don't give a crap if they get caught. Speed at your own risk.....

I'm glad you said it before me.

Also, I hate it when someone gives me the correct signal for a speed trap, and the speed trap is miles down the road. Anything over a mile is too much.

We get ticketed for speeding if caught, too. That's why nobody speeds... Right?

Hell no. No one does it for me, why do it for them. And it's fun to watch people get pulled over anyways. I drive by, point and laugh.

If I see a car that is obviously speeding and it looks like a worthwhile car (or a nice lady driving) I'll flash my lights once, stick my hand out the window and show them 5 fingers then a fist (0 fingers) then spin my finger in the air (signifying the lightbar). I'm not sure if people would get that it's supposed to be 5-0, or if I just look goofy

Next thing I should do is buy a led sign that spell out that a cop is down the road... but I betcha some idiots would still have no clue.

That's how pathetic this world is.

I've noticed it's only the "younger" generation that doesn't get the warning flash thing.

You flash most people that are under the age of say, 25, and they just look at you with that stupid look they've perfected from being confused about driving laws in general, or they flip you off.

So most of the time now, I don't bother.

I will flash them somtimes, usually when I am just around familiar areas. Any other place, and as people have already said, driver are just dumb and dont get it. Ill get the finger or lights flashed back at me, or even people swerving over at me

When in my neighborhood I flash when someone is speeding to make them think there is a speed trap.

I don't flash when there is.

In the end the traffic in my neighborhood gets slower both ways.

On the highway? Yes
