Wow. I certianly didn't expect this!

I'm not sure which is worse being a jerk, or irrational, sub class and ignorant.

For the record, I was driving offensively, not defensively.

I appreciate all of your input. I've had the day to mull over the incident. I know I did the right thing even if I am sub class. I'm some one sub class that refuses to let people walk all over him any longer.

I would have let him go. The simple fact that I carry a handgun on a daily basis everywhere I go, I need to make sure that I do everything that I can to not 'create' or 'instigate' a situation.

If you cut him off, then at the next red light, he got out and started beating on your window, shattered the glass with a crow bar, and you shot him...there will always be a witness that says you were involved and cut him off. Now, you instigated and yeah, you were still defending yourself when you shot him, but that's a tough case in court.

I always try to be courteous of others out on the roads.

No now, dont go thinking you are all of those.
People can act like jack-holes occasinally but not actually be a jack-hole.

You have to admit this one instance might have been a bit irrational, definatly lacked class, and might not have been the smartest reaction.

We have all had those moments at some point! Yes I'm sure even me once at some time or another. (Thats what I call delusional! In reality I likely I have those moments a couple times daily) Sometimes I am to ignorant to realize I am even doing it. So you showed intelligents by even questioning it to begin with.

There is nothing shamefull about ignorance, ignorance can be fixed. Only I can know it all. (more delusional)

Stupidity is the one to be scared of. Stupidity can not be edumacated, it does not learn, so stupidity would do the same thing next time.

I had this exact thing happen to me just the other day. I was in the turn lane, car to my right is in the lane to go straight. Right as we're coming to the stop light she turns on her blinker and wants to get over. We'll since the wife is in the truck with me I decide to be a nice guy and let her in front of me. Next thing I know she whips her car around the turn and proceeds to whip her middle finger out her window at me. Ah now this is where I forget about the wife being in the truck with me and I see red. Now I'm on her tail and honking my horn and giving her the finger, all the while my wife is going off on me.

Now we proceed onto the highway and I'm not satisfied quite yet (still forgetting the wife is in the truck with me). She sppeds off thinking she is going to lose me, but I just go WOT and the engine (now equipped with AF1 intake) roars to life and I'm beside her on the interstate reaching across the wife and flipping her off until she finally decides to slow her car down and I proceed on ahead of her. The wife is pissed off now and calls me a truck bully.

I do have road rage, but I am usually a nice guy when it comes ot other drivers. It's just when they decide to take their ignorance out on me that I lose it and I just want to bash their skulls in.

How I treat other drivers on the road tends to be character mirror for me. Sure at work in close contact with others, I rarely make mistakes because my punishment will be immediate and brutal. But in a mostly anonymous bubble like my car my true character can reveal itself.

I find that I am really selfish and easily angered. I also find that I hold grudges and seek to enact my own brand of vengeance on others. But I'm working on that. If I can be a cool cat at all times in my car or truck, then I've got a valuable thing.

I'm getting better at it each day. It is very hard but rewarding work!

That is an excellent and well written post.
I also think you are a liar, Dave.

You're that type of driver like I'm a goat herder.
